The Black Market Lounge Black Market Members and Mitsuko Afternoon Black Market Lounge, beneath the city of Windmire
"Windmire. Home of Nohrian royals. Disciplined to be the finest.
Prince Xander. Mature and methodical. Fiercely loyal to his father's cause.
Princess Camilla. Dangerous and beautiful.
Prince Leo. Ambitious and cunning.
Princess Elise. Childish and caring. Seen mingling in disguise with the common folk..."
The underground lounge room had a nice, warm atmosphere, almost like the higher-end cafes of the larger cities. The patrons consisted of unsavory individuals, sitting about in small groups around the lounge. A waitress or two wandered around, catering to the needs of those who lazed the time away on gambling and whatnot. There was no trace of smoke in the room aside from the residual stench of tobacco on patrons who walked in.
Of course, as unpleasant as the people looked, they really weren't all that bad. Respectably quaint, dressed to impress, and not to mention gentlemanly or ladylike, this place brought many customers who were in the know. From scheming aristocrats, to the plebeian businessman, all tried their luck to strike an audience with the elusive master of the house. After all, Black Market was a tree of forbidden fruit, and everyone wanted a piece of it.
That is, unless you were already in it. The secret rule was that if you managed to impress a member of Black Market, you could get a referral... and the enviable audience of one of the top dogs of the illegal trade.
A blonde woman sat in her own booth with a book open before her, accompanied by an inkwell and a writing quill in her right hand. She was absolutely gorgeous, and there were those who said that her voice was like a gift of the goddess when she took the stage. The eyes of men often wandered to this little corner to see if she was staring at them, and if they were, it was almost like an invitation to join her booth.
Naturally that wasn't the case, yet it was interpreted so.
"Janice," the woman called with a beckoning hand. The waitress immediately responded and came to her. "Fetch me a glass of champagne. I need some inspiration." With a gentle curtsey, the waitress disappeared into double doors to the kitchen.

An elegantly dressed young woman arrived at the lounge without much announcement other than the sound of her heels. This refined lady wore a fancy and rather frilly gothic style dress that nicely complimented the natural curves of her body. The girl's dress was certainly what was considered to be the latest fashion in these kingdoms but her stature and physical characteristics where unmistakably eastern.
The woman stood there at the entrance awaiting for one of the waitress to show up and direct her to take a seat. In that amount of time her inquisitive gaze wandered around the establishment, unafraid to make eye contact with whoever happened to be looking at her direction. The way she was dressed suggested she was no commoner yet she didn't wear any excessive jewelry as most members of the nobility did. The most elaborate accessories she wore being the ribbons keeping her twin tails neatly tied up.
Before too long a waitress directed her to take whatever seat she desired so the raven haired lass went for a vacant table right near the center. " A glass of red wine, please. " Despite her youthful looks she was no longer a child and thus ordered a drink more suitable for a Lady. Despite looking rather out of place the girl still smiled whenever people paid particular attention to her, there was no need to rub anyone the wrong way at least not yet.

The sound of the newcomer's heels caused some ears to tickle, and some heads turned to admire. While her dress was remarkably taste, it was her face that drew attention to her--she looked almost too young to be hanging around this side of the neighborhood.
There were questions that developed in some of the other patron's heads. Her looks and dress... she couldn't possibly be a regular customer.
Eyes continued to travel and rest on the girl, if only for a little while.
Suddenly, the candles of the stage flickered on, and a petite young lady in a waitress dress drew their attention away.
"Everyone, welcome to the Black Market Lounge," she spoke with a youthful voice, "In a few minutes, our madonna will appear to sing us a song. We instruct that our patrons do not interrupt her mid-performance..." Her head tilted down as to give her a rather sinister appearance, "... or there will be consequences. Thank you very much and continue to enjoy yourselves until then." The waitress gave a dainty curtsey and the spotlight disappeared.
With a quiet expectation, male patrons rose from their seats and made their way to the front seats of the stage.
That said, should one be discerning enough, they will find that the blonde in the scarlet dress had disappeared from her booth. Mitsuko

From the looks of it Mitsuko had arrived just in time to spectate some kind of show. The waitress demeanor was a little strange at first but then Mitsuko remembered people from Nohr where a little overly dramatic like that. That being said even a total stranger like her knew this was not exactly a normal lounge. Whoever this Diva was she sure had a good amount of followers judging by the males who rushed to get a seat as close to the stage as possible. These fellow certainly directed their gazes to Mitsuko but she wasn't the star of the show today.
' How nice. ' thought Mitsuko as the waitress arrived with her glass of wine. She'd come to this place to get to know the people who dedicated themselves to work in the black market so getting to hear one of the local singers mesmerize the audience with her voice was definitely a plus. The elegantly dressed Hoshidan looking young lady got herself comfortable in her seat, smelling the wine before taking a sip. For now she would sit at the table and wait until someone approached and from the looks of it all eyes where going to be set on the stage at least until the performance was over.
Everything about this joint simply struck all the right chords with the former Hoshidan Cavalier from the atmosphere to the type of clientele and while the wine was slightly over priced she couldn't blame the owner for wanting to turn a profit.

The time of the performance drew nigh. The lights in the lounge were dimmed, and the curtains of the stage withdrew. A bright light fell from the ceiling, giving form to the shapely figure of the blonde woman in the scarlet dress. Instantly, the eyes of the patrons widened and faces warmed at the sight of her.
"Ladies and gentlemen..." her voice was crisp and sultry, "Welcome once more to the Black Market Lounge." In the shadows behind her, a two-men band consisting of a violin and a cello began to play a slow, ear-rousing tune, and at the right moment, the woman began to sing a heart-breaking song with a clear, passionate voice.
The men at the front watched with a tranced look on their visages, but the woman paid them no attention as the song continued for a few minutes more. Rather, her eyes were set on the Hoshidan, and in one sense, acknowledging her arrival to the lounge.
As it concluded, the light disappeared, and an applause erupted from the audience.
"Brava... brava!" a man shouted with a fervor as he clapped with his hands above his head, "A voice to rival Lady Layla of Cykrensia... brava!"
Soon after, the patrons returned to their seats, and the woman appeared by the Hoshidan girl.
"Good evening, comrade," she greeted quietly as she leaned on the booth, "Did you enjoy the presentation?" Mitsuko

There was no denying that this blonde woman had a voice to match her outer beauty. The performers who played the music where in perfect tune with that melodious voice which created a truly exquisite experience. It was impossible not to notice the way the blonde looked at her, those sultry eyes meeting with Mitsuko's crimson gaze. This caused the raven haired girl to show a rather nervous smile, she wasn't squeamish in the least but something in those eyes felt rather intimidating.
Once the performance was over even Mitsuko stood from her seat to applaud since it was the courteous thing to do. Next thing she knew this stunning blonde singer approached her table, addressing Mitsuko rather casually.
" That was impressive to say the least. i'm honored to get the chance to speak to such a talented songstress. " It became instantly apparent that this young lady tone of voice wasn't anything like the other Hoshidan elite.
"My name is Mitsuko Nakajima. its a pleasure for me to have the opportunity to meet you, miss. " The girl made a standing reverence upon introducing herself to this Diva of the night.

"Oho, how quaint," the woman smiled, she bent her knee in introduction, "Call me Fifi, Madonna of Le Salon du Marché Noir." Her shoulders tilted coyly, "You're a lucky girl, you know. The master of the house has taken notice of you." Her head tilted sideways as a candlelight gave her a forbidding stare, "Would you care to join me at my table?" A hand lifted to where she had sat earlier.
Almost as if it were a natural occurrence, two waitresses stood by the once-vacant table, and a single fellow with long ears sat reading the book on the table. Mitsuko

" Enchante, madame Fifi. " After that brief exchange of pleasantries Mitsuko agreed to become a guest at the table where the person she was looking for sat. It was near imposible to miss that peculiar fellow with the long ears, no doubt the person she was looking for. Like a good guest the Hoshidan would follow her host over to the table, only taking a seat once she was allowed to do so.
" I'm looking forward to get the opportunity to work alongside a professional such as yourself. " So far this girl had heard nothing but rumors regarding this group activities. it was that latent curiosity which brought her here in search for opportunities. There was no need to interrupt this Elven fellow lecture, he would certainly address her once he had the time and interest to do so himself.
Darting Blow: Learned at level 1 When this unit initiates battles, their SPEED is increased by 5 for that battle.
As Mitsuko sat down, Fifi slid beside the elf and began to whisper in his ear. A smile developed on the fellow's face, and he nodded his head emphatically.
"I see... very nice, the information here is sufficient for today. Thank you," he murmured. The light bounced upon his round spectacles as he looked up to the Hoshidan, hiding his eyes from view. Fifi leaned close to him, shy of her hair brushing against his cheek.
"Good afternoon," the elf greeted, "You are our honored guest, Mitsuko Nakajima, and I am Weston Aldanier, but please! Call me West." His voice was a higher tone as one may expect, yet hushed in consideration of the rest of the lounge. "What brings you in today, Ms. Nakajima?" Mitsuko
While these two went on their brief exchange Mitsuko brought her half full glass of wine along, sipping it casually a couple of time before it was her turn to speak up." Its less about what you can do for me and more about what I CAN do for you, West. "
" I'll be completely honest with you. I am a soldier without an army looking for an equal opportunity employer. People in my line of work are considered the eyes and ears on the sky, we're also the first into the fight and the lasts to leave. " Of course she wasn't going to come off and outright state she was an Hoshidan Sky knight since there was no telling who else could be listening in to their conversation.
" My people either think i'm dead or are aware of my desertion and will without a doubt put an end to my life if I'm ever caught but I have inside knowledge about a certain Eastern Kingdom battle plans and secret routes along with information regarding the location of hidden arsenals spread across the land. " If this fellow was as smart as he looked then he certainly would have a use for someone like her.
" I know the Hoshidan capital like the palm of my hand as well." Her tone while hushed was loud and clear enough.
There was silence at the table after she had spoken. West's face remained unchanged from a simper, while Fifi began to twiddle her fingers.
"... All very promising," the elf spoke with a nod, "Yet... to throw yourself into our graces with everything you seem to know..."
"A little bit dubious, my dear Weston?" Fifi chimed as her eyes held a piercing gaze toward Mitsuko.
"Dubious, dubious... no, no, dubious isn't wasn't what I was thinking, darling," replied West with a wave of his hand, "Information of any kind must be parsed and proven for authenticity." He bounced a finger in the Hoshidan's direction, "A soldier, informant, as well as turncoat. By the heaven's above, it is almost too good to be true! To think that you would have that much to share, it is hard to imagine that you wouldn't want something out of this..."
He slowly leaned forward with his fingers linked together, "So... what is your end goal, Ms. Nakajima? Pray tell, why do you come to us, and not to Nohr's government?" Mitsuko
" The Nohrian royal army would execute me the moment I've outlived my usefulness. I don't consider myself a traitor seeing how my homeland turned its back on me to begin with. " The idea of selling out her own country didn't perturb Mitsuko's shaky moral standards. All actions had consequences and the people responsible for disowning her unit and staining her personal honor would pay dearly for their transgression.
" All I want is the opportunity to work for an amount that can sustain my life style. I wont over price my services in the least and i'm hoping you can sell that information I provide to people who might be more interested in the long term applications. " Right now what Mitsuko wanted was a buffer between herself and whoever plotted to use that intel against Hoshido being Nohrians or third parties.
" I understand that you might have doubts. if you are unsure then i'll take my leave and we wont have to see each other again. It would be a pity because I do like this establishment of yours. " She couldn't fault West for being careful and there was no need to try and force a deal.
"Aha... I see... that changes things," West brushed his hand along his narrow chin, "Well, take into account that if you plan to work with us, you're in our good graces forever! Naturally, so long as you would stay loyal. There is no 'selling out' of our members as far as I know." He turned his head to Fifi, "Would you care to list some of our benefits, Fifi?"
"Of course," replied the woman as she once again met eyes with Mitsuko, "In Black Market, we provide our active members with their own sleeping quarters as well as free food and drink in exchange of their services."
"Furthermore..." continued West, "Members who offer themselves as combatants will received further benefits. And, ah, hearing that you are a soldier, I cannot help but wonder of your combative capabilities." There was an expectant look on his face, "Would you care to share a sample of your abilities? Ah, not here, of course. We've a separate area in the back for that." Mitsuko
" I would be delighted to give you a demonstration. I only need about half hour to go fetch my mount and weapons from where I am currently staying." These people where definitely interested in testing her skills and Mitsuko was not one to disappoint those who where her subjects of interest. The girl raised her hand, calling out for the nearest waitress so she could pay for the glass of wine that now laid empty.
Whatever change Mitsuko was handed over next she gave it to the bar maid right back. Surely she might have been low on funds at this point but that was no reason to not tip.
West nodded his head and grinned, "Then we shall await your arrival in the sparring arena..."
Thirty minutes have passed, and a small audience has gathered to witness the prospective member's abilities. So, she had a pegasus with her... how fun, how fun!
West sat upon a spectator's seat and leaned forward against his knees. His hands were clasped together, his head resting on top of them. Loyal Fifi sat by his side with her legs crossed and her hand swirling a glass of champagne. Other members stood by with indiscriminate faces hidden in shadow with an expectation a little less than their employer.
"She's a Sky Knight," spoke one to another, "Such a young and pretty one, too."
"It begs one to wonder what had happened exactly."
"Quiet," Fifi's voice reverberated in the room, "Who's she fighting, West?"
Without a second beat, he announced, "Diviner Shura." His eyes wandered to the side where the diviner stood, "This is not a battle to the death. I ask that you allow her the chance to show her skills."
"Hmph. As you wish, Boss," replied the diviner. He stepped onto the sparring mat and rolled his shoulders, "Come on, then! Let's see what you've got." He pulled his spirit charms out and prepared for battle.
"Go on, Ms. Nakajima!" West called out, "Don't worry about the need to win, although that would be most fantastic!"
Opponent Diviner Shura Lv.3 HP 16 | STR 0 | MAG 6 | SKL 8 | SPD 6 | DEF 2 | RES 3 Weapon: Rat Spirit, MT 3 @ 85% (SPD +1)
"Nakajima-san," the diviner said with his spirit ready, "You attack first, and we shall see your know-how in battle. Attack me with all your might... and don't worry, I can take it."
