At first Akemi was attempting to get Ethan out of the sticky situation she'd gotten him into. There was no denying she could have chosen to stay out of sight and convince him to do the same but that wasn't the path she'd ended up choosing. As a result the blue haired man had been taken captive.
By the time she turned around Ethan was nowhere to be seen and to make matters worse that Nohrian soldier was still hot in her trail. " ok that's enough retreating for now! " Now that there was more distance between her and the opponent she prepared to counter accordingly.

This time however Akemi had gotten a feel for those spear thrusts, her eyes followed the tip of the spear and she managed to move around it employing swift foot work. Now she had the advantage and could strike back.

The green haired soldier lands a blow on her opponent body, causing the Nohrian soldier to stagger momentarily. In this brief moment of time she notices a familiar woman attempting and failing to cast a spell. " is that ... ? " 1d100·1d100

With a deep, guttural growl, Mai had once again prepared to strike. Her breath became heavy as she started walking up the hill. Her hands began to emit sparks, and even her hair began to levitate into the air. Her tome lifted in the air as she aimed at the soldier.

"Die, kisamaaaaaaaaa!!!" the woman shrieked at the top of her lungs. At that moment, a surge of electricity leapt at a frightening speed at the Nohrian soldier and struck him in the chest. His body immediately became straight and rigid as it flew through the air, landing some distance on the floor in a smoking heap.
Soon after, Mai proceeded to walk toward the other woman. Her blood-red eyes glowed from the surge of magic awakened in her body.
However, her face softened. This woman... she was awfully familiar. That emerald hair was unmistakeable...
"... Akemi ?" she murmured as her vehement aura faded, "... Is... is that you?"1-100
" I cant believe you of all people arrived here before my own reinforcements. I must thank you for helping me out." The Nohrian soldier had been reduced to a pile of smoldering flesh before Akemi's own eyes. Akemi was certainly not expecting to run into her landlord, a middle aged lady named Mai Watanabe. The young girl took a moment of her time to prostrate herself before her senior.
Now that she was done conveying her appreciation Akemi stood up, grabbing her weapon once again." its really dangerous out here, Watanabe-san. You should head back to the town with the way things are going I cannot guarantee your safety so close to the enemy advance. There was a blue haired fellow with me that the Nohrian's took captive. I was trying to help him get out but they must have caught him while we where trying to shake them off. " The only thing Akemi could do now was send a message to the local garrison to mobilize in preparation for the inevitable Nohrian advance.
" Poor Ethan. if I don't hurry up he wont last long ... " It was strange they would take him captive out of the two it made more sense if they attempted to capture Akemi since she was part of the army and thus could be interrogated for information regarding troop movement.

A blue-haired man... there was only one she knew of who traversed on his own.
No. No, that can't be right...
"... Ethan... was..?" Mai murmured. Her body began to tremble at the report, and as Akemi finished, her legs gave way beneath her. She became deathly pale and her eyes became wide with shock.
That fool... that stupid fool! Did he think he was invincible? Even with all your hard luck, it had to run out sometime...!
"A... Akemi!!" the woman stumbled to her feet and grabbed her old employee on her shoulders, her words struggling to leave her mouth, "Where... where?! Where did they go?! Where did they take him?!"

It felt really odd for someone like Mai to act almost like a mother who had been separated from her newborn child." Most likely Fort Jinya but just to make sure I'll have to go back and find whatever trail there's left." Even after escaping that life threatening encounter Akemi did try to keep herself somewhat composed. She knew Mai could be overly emotional but the older woman was not in a state to be of any further assistance.
" Please calm down, Watanabe-san. " In this current estate Akemi couldn't just leave Mai out here like this. The poor woman was really devastated from hearing the news. " Is Ethan related to you in some way? " There was no way they where related so maybe they where lovers.
" It doesn't really matter! You can leave this to us, Watanabe-san. You should go back and let everyone else in town know how dangerous it is to go out right now. " There was no denying that despite her age Mai was quite attractive so she could totally see her dating younger men, nevertheless this wasn't the time nor place for gossip.

Mai's hands released Akemi's shoulders. Fort Jinya.
After making it all this way, they would go back to where this whole escapade started. What a fool... Campbell surely is waiting for Ethan there. No doubt a public shaming or execution awaited him.
In that case, there was no time to lose. They needed to find Raziel, as well as get any other help they could in town.
But first thing's first... Akemi herself was injured from the struggle earlier.
The innkeeper breathed in deeply to compose herself. "... Akemi... you're hurt. I agree we should get back to town, but if they're heading to Fort Jinya, we really need to get our rear into gear." She pulled a cloth from her obi and put it into Akemi's hands, "Here, use this on your wound. We're going back to town immediately." Her countenance darkened with her next words, "I won't let some half-bit Nohrian scumbag get away with kidnapping a friend under MY nose."

After thinking about it for a solid minute Akemi decided it would be better to go along with Mai. " Thank you. " When the older woman handed her that piece of cloth she tended to her wounds. Truth to be told Akemi was in no shape to go on active reconnaissance right now. Those injuries she'd sustained could get infected so she needed some medical assistance as well.
On their way to the village Akemi found out why none of her comrades had shown up to help. the others had been ambushed and laid killed by the side of the road. " This isn't good ... " Out of respect Akemi decided to stay and bury the bodies of her fallen comrades. " I'm sorry I cant go with you, Watanabe-san. " There where digging tools at the outpost so the green haired girl grabbed one and began digging graves.
