Asinine pulled at the hem of his clothing annoyedly, as he glanced around the woods. He couldn't help but recall the annoying fate that awaited him, some time ago, when he was here...
That girl. Not many people could succeed at bothering the young mage, but she definitely the exception. He didn't doubt that she'd desire his death, if they met again. Regardless, she couldn't be stupid enough to return here. He sighed to himself, as his servant pushed him along.
After awhile, the servant stopped, and Asinine gazed up at the moon with a dull expression. He zoned out, as time seemed to pass, endlessly. He had to get away from it all for awhile... The books, the people. Sitting here, he let himself empty his mind. The woods were silent, and everything seemed calm right now.
He couldn't help but wish to be sucked into an endless void.
Here she was again, reinvigorated and ready to take back what was hers.
According to her father, a whale bone was a hard to procure, even more was carving it away to make it useable as a fishing tool. It was not meant to be a weapon to fight with. In her culture, it was a gift to a family who had reached prominence in society.
She was the daughter of a vagabond noble, in some senses.
How foolish she had been! How unwise her actions were! Even so, she was here again to retrieve what was lost in her desperate fight for survival. Another reckless decision... but one she was fated to make. Should there have been any other manakete, the whale bone spear would be her proof of her people's culture.
Hadassah crawled low to the ground, using her ears more than her eyes. The Faceless were scarce today, but one false move may cause them to swarm like they had before. She would not repeat that mistake.
On her way through the woods, her ears picked up a familiar sound. The squeaking of a wheelchair.
Asinine. His servants had beat her out of their intolerance of her.
He strolled through these woods with his servant pushing him along. What an irritating sight.
As much as she detested him, she wouldn't attack him. There was no reward in revenge, that much she learned from her savior. Things will catch up to people in time.
Even so...
"Hello, Asinine. Did you miss me?"
She stood leaning against a tree facing him with a blank look on her face. A cloak covered her body, and her face was hidden in the shadow of her hood.

Asinine's emptiness was interrupted as he heard the a voice escape from the distance, it reminded him of that manateke's voice. Regardless, why did people have to bother him all the time? He hated it, as he silently craned his head towards the lady, a blank expression rested upon his face.
"And just like that, the silence was murdered." He muttered under his breath, as he motioned for his servant to turn him around towards the lady.
Speaking up a bit louder, he yawned. "Not particularly, did you need something?" He stated in his usual blunt tone, his eyes examined her cloaked figure, the voice definitely sounded like that of the specimen, but it was hard to see her very well.
"I came here to be alone, so leave." With that he turned off into the the distance, staring upwards blankly.
"Oh, sure," Hadassah shrugged, "Ask if I needed something, then tell me to leave? You've a way with words, Asinine." The woman walked slowly in an encircling fashion about the boy and his servant. "I should make mention of the servants you sent me away with. Not the most tolerant bunch, I must say... they used every second of their time with me to make me remember that I'm the lesser species."
She folded her arms and twisted her head toward him, "I don't know if you ordered them to treat me like a whipping post, but it's hard for me to put it off from asking." The very memory cause her blood to boil, and the scars she gained from that encounter began to itch and pulse beneath her skin.

Asinine refused to make his glance even meet her. "Really? If they treat something rare and valuable as though it were useless, I suppose that those employees will have to be removed." He stated bluntly, as he kept his eyes to the sky. "I ordered them to bring you away, and give you your belongings upon getting there, anything extra they did, shall be punished accordingly."
He folded his hands together, before stretching his arms out. His body seemed to slump a bit within his seat. "If I intended them to hurt you, they would've tortured you, in front of me, with you being interrogated, so rest assured, this was an action against my wishes, despite my disdain for you." His eyes finally turned to glance at her. "That should be obvious though."
So, he did not order it, but they acted on their own accord.
"Give power to someone of lesser standing, and they will do as they see fit with it," the manakete stated with clarity in her voice. She stopped her pacing and faced him, "I would trust your words, should they not have fallen into the Bottomless Canyon out of their own foolishness." Her hood moved side to side as she shook her head, "Ah... no matter. I'm not here to toy with your mind. I've a behemoth to hunt down."
Hadassah turned away and began walking. However, she stopped and turned once more, "... I apologize for breaking the contemplation of your own existence, Asinine. However, I would make this a request that you do it someplace safer. Today, the woods will be my battleground."

Asinine sighed, he couldn't supervise idiots all the time, he just expected them to do their job, at least. But whatever, the manateke was fine, thus he saw no issue. If she died, he'd have a reason to be bothered, but she didn't so there was no real issue.
He let out a sigh, as he straightened in his seat. "I recall you nearly dying last time, do you want such an outcome to repeat?" Asinine stated bluntly, as he began to rest his head within a hand. He didn't say this with a desire to help though, but he probably would get dragged into helping either way, if he stuck around.
"You say I contemplate my existence, but you seek death? Interesting." He glanced around quietly.
"It'll be different this time," said Hadassah with a nod, "And I'm simply taking back what is mine. After that, I will not linger any longer than I should." She patted her hands together, "Since you're here, I might be able to work out a plan. Seeing that you aren't doing anything important, perhaps you can make yourself useful." She gave the servant a quick glance, then back to Asinine, "... Perhaps it would give you some form of entertainment, too."

Asinine let out a light yawn, he seemed to do this whenever he was bored or annoyed. "Perhaps, what use of me do you have?" He said in a dull way, as he glanced to his lap, moving his fingers around, and observing them, as he spoke. "Do you intend to get me into a fight alongside you, in order to cause my death?" Clearly not the trusting sort.
"Well, it's an easy thing I have in mind, depending on your ability to throw spells. I need you to aim at the eyes of a behemoth," spoke Hadassah. She gave Asinine coquettish simper, "Now... I know that a behemoth is a formidable foe with such great size and width. It's not easy to face one without shaking in your skin." She motioned her hand for him to follow, "I've been tracking this beast for a couple days now. Faceless keep themselves scarce of its presence, as it is impulsively violent. It has no den, and it wanders the woods in circles."
Her hands slid behind her back and she locked her fingers together, "... I should ask, though. How's your magic pitching... and do you possess a Thunder Tome?"
Odd rhythm: Learned at level 1 If a unit equipped with this skill has their turn set during an odd number in the turn order, they get +10 to their HIT and the enemy gets -10 to their HIT.
"Oh... Hmm... I'm afraid I have a horrendous aim, and you simply could not find a thunder tome upon my self." He said in a clearly falsified tone, before rolling his eyes.
"If you couldn't understand my sarcasm, yes, I am very capable of meeting your request... Though the question remains, why?" He folded his arms, as he kept his forever emotionless expression. Honestly, it probably would look weird to see him smiling. "What do you have to offer me?"
"As the Hoshidans so aptly put it, kuuki yomenai-yo," Hadassah snorted, "Is there no good will under that thin, deathly skin of yours?" She hopped over a tree's exposed roots, "That's the problem with most of you Nohrian nobles. There's no heart for charity within you, not like the Hoshidans or Nohrian defectors to Hoshido. Ah, but what am I saying... I'm tossing pearls before swine, aren't I?"
The sound of slow stomping began to reverberate nearby, causing the manakete to raise her head.
"... Ah, my quarry approaches," she turned her head to the boy and gave him a leer, "I won't seek your help if you are so unwilling to give it, Asinine. Go on, toddle off and play with dolls like the nobleman's child you are, otherwise prove yourself a man and make yourself useful."
Odd rhythm: Learned at level 1 If a unit equipped with this skill has their turn set during an odd number in the turn order, they get +10 to their HIT and the enemy gets -10 to their HIT.
Asinine didn't really seem to care at her mocking. She wasn't honestly accurate, plenty of nobles had good will, he was different. He was empty inside, there may not be good will, but there wasn't any profound malice.
"Mmm... Perhaps I will, if being a man requires such annoying pointless efforts, what desire is there in me, to be one?" He stated quite bluntly, "If you have no wish, but to ridicule me, and Nohrians in general, I see no reason to assist you... I don't owe you anything, I've saved your life once before, have I not?"
He folded his arms, and peered around, in search of the beast.
Hadassah turned her head toward him and let out a serpentine hiss, "Have you no sense of charity? Are you some empty, closed urn that wishes to keep itself in a dark corner of some storage room? If your desire in life is to become so callous, then allow yourself the pleasure to witness someone as abhorred as I to fall before a creature that has every right to stand as your equal!!!"
The heavy footsteps began to come closer, and even so a dark silhouette appeared from a distance within the fog. The manakete turned herself toward the shadow and let out a deep hiss. However, before she advanced, she glanced at him one more time.
"I am done hoping to change your mind, Asinine," she said with a sorrowful expression, "It is clear to me that you are too hard of heart to see any moral sense. Farewell." The earring on her ear suddenly shimmered, and her form instantly changed into that of a battle-scarred dragon. The beast crouched down low and began a stealthy approach toward the behemoth.

Asinine seemed roughly indifferent in this respect. He may be pigheaded, but must he really risk his life, to help one whom he abhors? His conclusion was no.
If this lady was going to act like she was entitled to his assistance, he didn't care, and honestly, he was thankful she finally stopped asking. "I have no reason to remain here. I have no desire to see your body demolished before my eyes... Not right now at least." He stated bluntly, he perhaps would enjoy watching, at a different time, but right now, he glanced at his servant, and started rolling off.
