Alliance: Neutral
Hometown: Unknown
Likes: Water, swimming, fish (for eating), fishing
Dislikes: Most people, not all, but most.
Voice: Hadassah's natural tone is gentle and deep. However, when she's playing primitive games with people she doesn't trust, her voice tends to be high and accented, speaking mostly with grunts and hums.
Personality: A mature woman at first meeting, Hadassah exemplifies a majestic creature of habit and wisdom. She hides her tracks, takes the road less travelled, and lives a life outside of human settlements. The few places she visits for supplies are neutral towns or villages of shifters. She has a deep-seated disgust for aristocrats, but on the other hand, she is open to other manateke and shifters she comes across.
Hadassah is a lover of water, and she won’t hesitate for a second to jump into a pool of clear water for a swim. An excellent swimmer in her human form, she glides through water with grace and poise. Over the years of her breathing exercises, and with some stretching, she can stay beneath the water for ten minutes at a time.
Through a harrowing experience between life and death, Hadassah has learned further to test a person of their good will.
Biography: “Hmm? You want to know about this ancient woman? Well, I’ll try to remember as far as I can…
My tribe was an aquatic kind. We made our living off of the sea and ruled the ocean, as it were. When I was born it was during the rise of slavery of us manateke. It was a dark age for my kind as ships hunted my people like game animals, intent on turning us into their mounts for war.
I was but a fledgling when my father escaped with me from forthcoming slavery so long ago. He took me beneath the depths to escape their tyranny within a hidden cove. We lived beneath the surface, ignorant of the wars of men and the status of the land, feeding upon the fish of the sea. My father strictly forbid me from leaving the sanctuary of the cave. He was the only one who would be able to leave.
I did as I pleased within the cavern. Cooked, cleaned, mended clothes, made my own toys, cleaned the cave of the long spires… but it was a lonely time whenever my father left me to get more supplies from the surface. Each time, he would return with more scars and bruises, and even his wing had holes inside of them. He told me why with such hatred in his eyes.
‘Apes. Those apes again.’
He always called them ‘apes.’ I didn’t know what an ape was, but I never asked.
Life went on. He eventually taught me how to swim and how to hunt with a spear for fish. We always avoided creatures that were larger than us—better that way. Our hunting times always brought in plenty of fish for us to eat, but we never took more than we needed. The new rule was to never breach the surface for air, but to return to the cave.
It’s not like I produced gills, but after a while I was able to hold my breath for a long time, much longer than the average human! It was simple to swim back to the cave.
I don’t remember what age I was… perhaps between 200-300 years that my father didn’t return. I wondered why this was, but for a while I did as I was told to.
I… became very lonely. I entertained the idea that I would breach the surface to see the sky. I was overtly curious with my father, but he would always turn me down.
Eventually, I decided that I had enough in the cave. I couldn’t wait for my father—I worried for him. His excursions last for a month, but it was already two.
Two months I waited for his return. Are you surprised? The passage of time feels like nothing to one such as I.
Thus, I put together my things and made for the surface. As I did… I made a discovery while I went through my father’s things. A strange necklace that he had kept inside of a box. It was mother’s.
He never spoke to me about my mother, and curiosity would benefit me little with him.
I took the necklace, but beneath it was a note from her.
‘Give it to her. She’ll need it for this cruel world.’
I utter a word of thanks to my mother, whose fate is still unknown to me.
After I had made provision, I surfaced. It was a strange and alien world compared to the undersea life. The air was fresh and surreal, unlike the damp and humid cave. I would soon learn the do’s and don’ts of the strange, hostile world.
A long story, hm? You look sleepy. Come back tomorrow, then.”

Additional Notes:
- Hadassah carries a long spear for spear-fishing. She would never use it for actual combat.
- Her dragon form: A serpent-like dragon with paddled feet and horns. The wings hug the body during swimming while the dorsal fin opens to ease swimming ability. The fins at the end of the tail are actually meant to assist in flight, and as such are close during swimming. Jet-black scales with white eye-sockets, similar to a killer whale.
