It had been sometime since Koume had visited Windmire. Considering how many visits she had made to Nohr's captial, more specifically it's pleasant catacombs, her absence was surprising. The little Wolfskin didn't anticipate missing it as much as she did but as she stepped into the view of the stalls and shops, a hiccup caught in her throat. Windmire wasn't home, but even the shrine didn't evoke what brewed in her chest.
Nohr wasn't nice. More so now with the war. Yet underneath it's very capital was a place that made it possible to forget what was above. Koume preferred confrontation when it came to what bothered her, but Windmire gave her a moment to indulge her momentary escapism.
So with that thought in her mind, she went to the first stand. Then the next, and the one next to that. She allowed herself to be swallowed in by the kind people and the muffled music of the performers further down. Until a small figure caught her eye. A child? Alone here?
Granted this part of Windmire was much kinder than what was overhead, it was still Windmire. It was still Nohr. And maybe it was because she was in such an amicable mood- or maybe because she couldn't stand the thought of a child possibly being lost in such a place- that Koume went over to the lone figure. The closer she got, the clearer the figure's shape became. The clearer it became, the more panic began to claw at her insides.
She wasn't just a little girl. She was a Wolfskin too. Or a Kitsune? Her scent wasn't familiar, but she clearly wasn't human. Now, standing so closely, Koume could see that the girl wasn't scared of being seen. No one seemed to be paying much attention to her either, which she knew was for the best. The teen lowered herself sightly so that she was eye level with the smaller girl.
"Hey there, little one. Are you lost?" The voice sounded strange to her. When was the last time Koume actually spoke so... kindly to someone?
Ever since coming to this land she had seen so many new things and people! True she missed her home and wished that she could go back quite dearly... However with no apparent way to do so, the little cat laguz had just been wandering from place to place inside this city. True, there had been several scary moments.. However things usually ended up going well in the end for herself~
So far today was one of the better days as she was hanging around a stall that sold fish, hoping that maybe if she stayed around it long enough she'd be able to get some~ What she didn't expect however was a somewhat strange smelling person to come over to her and ask if she's okay... Actually, they kind of smell like one of those wolf people she met from her homeland! Due to her thinking that the person in front of her is one of them she'd speak to her in the Hatari Common language that she did her best to learn for just a time like this, also known as the ancient language in her homeland.
On realizing that what is assumed to be a Hatari resident doesn't seem to understand her she'd seem to deflate somewhat thinking that she herself may have just worded things badly or something. And so she'd then reply in the common tongue. "H-hello, and kind of? I went through a strange portal and found myself here a few days ago... Oh! But I've been doing okay since sometimes people give me food saying things like I should grow up a bit more and sometimes muttering something about a coat or other types of clothes? I don't actually know why, but maybe they were needing to buy clothes?"
Thinking this she'd tilt her head to the side somewhat. In fact after saying this it may be realized that it's less people are not noticing her. But rather it's more like a lot of people know about her but are waiting for others to make the first move so there'd be a slight tenseness in the air as there are people around that may want to protect the little one, but a lot of others that most likely want to capture and perhaps even skin her if what the little one said was any indication. But she'd seem oblivious to all of this as she'd smile brightly up to Koume. So at the moment many peoples attention would be on the two of them ever since Koume walked up to the girl, but they'd try not to make it obvious.
"Oh yeah! Also my name is Chen, Mya~ What's yours Miss?" .... This girl seems to be too damn innocent to the world around her. Even if this is the nicer part of the city, it's still dangerous to beings like them. However if what she said about a portal is true, then perhaps she came here through the outrealms by accident, or is from another land far away?
