Exotic? Yes. A place where fortunes could be made? Oh, very much so. But kind? Never, no matter what anyone might say. It was a place of pleasure and danger, often at the same time.
In such a place, coin was of greater value than blood, and the edge of the knife was a perfectly viable means of ascending the ranks of society. For such tasks however, individuals with specialized skills were needed. Skills of malicious murder and kidnapping.
Fila was one such individual, with previous experience in both. She was waiting to meet her new coworker, an agent likewise hired. Their job was to kidnap the daughter of the local fence for a wide web of criminal activities. He doted on her, a certain interested parties wished to have leverage over him. To that end, Fila and another had been assigned to hatch and carry out a kidnapping. art

Today was going to be an interesting day, Artimus was suppose to meet up with his new ally. The two of them apparently had a very similar working style. So it was probably going to be an alright encounter between the two of them. The job also seemed to be a bit simple in the long run. A noble had become infatuated with a girl from another family. So their goal? Well it was simple, they had to simply sneak in, and capture the girl for this so called noble. A fairly simple task or so it seemed.
But when it came down to incidents so like these, there was always a small drawback, either the girl would be guarded. Or the two of them would have a rough time finding the girl... Well as far as Art was concern as long as he was paid handsomely for this little task, he could care less about how much trouble it would be to grab the girl. But the most curious prospect about this whole meeting thing, was being able to meet this new ally that he would be working with.
Rounding a corner, and walking through the dark alley, Art reached up and drew his hood back away from his face, and dropping the cloak on the ground, he had worn the green one long enough, it would be time to get a new cloak at some point. Standing at the meeting spot however, Artimus didn't see anyone around at all. He was told that they would call him by his street name of Oak... Cause well that was all his employers knew about him, no one knew his true name. But his appearance would be unmistakable, a tall man, wearing a skin tight rogue outfit, with blue hair and blue eyes. He stood at a good six foot three inches, and he looked to be a body of solid muscle. "So...wonder where my partner is..." He said mumbling to himself.
"Over here." called out a voice from the gloom. Fila stepped out from the shadows where she had been lurking out of caution. Sometimes these meetings were traps by chagrined clients or bitter targets to get revenge on the mercenary that carried out their misery, or to extract information about that mercenary's employer. Fila had done a quick sweep of the area before revealing herself; she would've liked to have been more thorough, but they were on a timer. A very long one, but still.
"You're... Art, correct? I'm Fila. Looks like we'll be working together."

A woman's voice seemed to come out of the darkness, a little on edge, Art seemed to spin into the direction in which her voice had come from. He didn't expect the girl to already be there, it wasn't like he planned to be as early as he did, but it was always proper etiquette to show up to a meeting so that you could get introductions out of the way, but for someone to be here earlier than him? That was unheard of in the most recent way people worked.
However, she was polite introducing herself, and explaining that she would e working with him again. But he was curious on how the woman knew to call him Art. He had only given that name out too just a few people, ones he was sure that didn't hang around the city anymore. Shaking his head ever so slightly, the thief stood up scratching the back of his head. "Well, it's nice to meet you Fila, but I'd prefer if you'd just call me Oak... As well that is my street name, and the only thing most employers know me by."
The statement in itself was basically a double meaning, asking how she knew his name, but at the same time telling here not to refer to him in that way, especially if they had to work together, he wasn't sure however, about the girl though, she had classified information on him... Yet he had nothing on her in the meantime, perhaps it would be in hi best interest to look into his future partners just a little bit more, before signing up for these missions.
"Oak, then. As you like." Fila resolved to have words with the person who had contracted her. They had given her Art as him name, but that was not what He Was To Be Called. It was secondhand-unprofessionalism, and she detested being victim to it. However, there wasn't really any way around it, and she didn't want to get into a discussion of the flow of information and identity.
So, she moved on to the job.
"The person who contracted me has given me some... last minute details. Frustrating, I know, but that's how the cards have fallen for sellswords like us." She motions him over to the darkness, holding a leather packet in one hand and the other drawing a flat square in the air. After a moment, the air shimmers, and she sets the packet on an invisible surface.
"I have here a copy of her schedule for the next few days, among other things. We'll want to double-check it of course, but there's a couple of opportunities for us. The upcoming carriage ride is of particular interest. It'll be risky doing a carriage job in broad daylight, but its when her guard is at its lowest."

Artimus didn't push the topic about his name too much with the girl. She seemed to be strictly business something that he could enjoy himself. Nodding slightly however, when she spoke about the contract being changed on them, all he could do was sigh and pinch his nose ever so slightly. "Alright, so not only did they leak information about me, but they decided to change the actual information about the job. I suppose one would often think this is a set up, but you don't seem to be the type to try that sort of thing." He said with a small smile.
Sitting down on the ground for a moment, he listened to what the girl had to say, apparently the new job was to get into the carriage during the daylight, and hope that no one saw the two of them smuggling or executing the so called woman. "Well... The difficulty just raised a bit huh? I'd say that our employer has a little explaining on their end about this... Or I'll just need to talk to Madame to make sure that nothing is sour with this operation." He said with a bit of a sigh. Reaching up Art began tapping his chin in thought.
"Well, I feel as if, that we may want to make sure that this so called schedule is accurate like you've suggested. But at the same time, it's not only her own schedule we need to be worried about. WE need to know theatres, and shops that she enjoys going too. Not to mention we will definitely need to figure out which guard company she hires from. So we can tell the quality of meat shields she grabs. Otherwise we'll be blind as bats in this operation." The list of duties they needed to perform just seemed to get bigger and bigger the more he thought about it.
