The wheels turned silently, as Asinine quietly pushed onward. His body frail, and lithe, it required a bit of effort, yet his expression remained emotionless, as though this was something he might do in his sleep. Upon the small boy's lap, laid three books, all were rather immense. The top one was clearly a historical book, and below it lay a book regarding magic, the final book was about the Dawn and Dusk Dragons.
Young Asinine came from a long ways away, to receive these few books from the library. After getting such books, he sought a place to rest, however as he rolled his wheelchair by, it was rather bothersome the amount of bandits that seemed to be nearby.
Yet as he finally reached the inn, of which he had headed, he was faced with a slight issue. There was a step he must make in order to get in, however... It'd be difficult to get in with his wheelchair. The boy wasted no time, immediately understanding the solution to his issue. Knocking just loud enough upon the door, to be heard, his soft voice called out.

At the time the boy arrived, the inn resounded with voices and laughter. The innkeeper, along with a female hireling, walked about the room to serve the customers food and drink.
The innkeeper was passing by the entrance when she heard the knock and the voice of a youth that expressed a need for aid.
"Nnn?" the woman raised an eyebrow as she approached the entrance. She stuck her head outside of the entrance and looked down. Her face took on surprise as she took in the sight of a young and rather ghastly fellow sitting in a wheelchair. There were also three books on his lap of varying sizes and shapes. Curious.
"Oh my," she remarked as she came outside, "I've never seen you before. How can I help you?" Asinine

As the door came to an open, the boy's expression changed none, but his stance got slightly more relaxed, as he seemed to talk quite calmly. "That's to be expected. I'd appreciate it if you could help me in, as I intend to stay the night at this location."
He quietly examined the interior, using his peripheral vision. His eyes however, looked as if he was stuck in a daze, rarely blinking, and looking off blankly. "Put in the most simple of terms, lift me up the step, and into the building, so I may get a room."

Hm, hm. He speaks with intent and no words wasted. A learned fellow from the get-go.
"Certainly," the woman nodded, "Inoue-san. I need your help here for a moment." At her words, a young woman with black hair appeared at the door and looked at the wheelchair curiously. The innkeeper instructed her to stand on one side so that she could lift the wheelchair up into the doorway.
"Alright, on my three," said the innkeeper as she prepared herself, "One... two... three!" The two women lifted the wheelchair through the door and set it down. "Thank you, Inoue-san." With a quiet bow, the girl went back to attend the other guests.
"Shall I push you to the counter?" she asked further to the guest. Asinine

Asinine slowly had moved his hands onto his books, holding them as to prevent them from falling, as he was hoisted up onto the ground. He seemed to zone out the two ladies' idle chitchat, as he glanced down to his lap, before back up to the innkeeper. His response was simple. "Yes, do so."
Despite his soft tone, everything he said, had a certain degree of assurance behind it. It was almost like a demand, yet no harshness lied within his voice. His glance went towards the counter, as he straightened up a tad.

As per his request, the innkeeper proceeded to push him to the counter. When the wheelchair was just before it, the woman rounded the corner and sat down on a chair. She brushed her long bangs out of her face and exhaled briefly.
"Now!" she smiled, "I am the innkeeper of Raven's Rest, Watanabe Mai. Our rates per night is two pieces, while a complete set for room and board is three. How long would you like to stay for?" Asinine

Asinine slowly pulled his bag onto his lap, and removed a small sack of gold. It was bound to have at least fifty pieces inside. Reaching up to the counter, he placed it down rather gently, as to make a minimal amount of clicking and clacking from the coins.
"Three days, this payment should be sufficient." He suddenly started glancing around the room, still seeming rather lifeless. Yet... Suddenly he finally stated something that seemed a bit less serious, despite being spoken in the exact same tone as everything else.

It was all simple business until his sudden question. How unusual... does he play with dolls, or is it rather that he collects them?
Mai slowly pulled the coins from the desk, "Etooo... dolls... while I myself had dolls back when I was little, they are long gone now. I have books if you'd like to read them, though." She motioned her hand down to the pile of books on his lap, "You seem to be more of a reader, I would think." If that were true, then they were close to being a cut from the same cloth. Asinine

"Oh... That's a shame." The boy seemed to mumble, as he glanced back downward. It took him a moment to continue in response, as he fiddled with the pages of the books upon his lap.
"Books... Will be fine." His glance returned upwards towards the lady, as he lowered his hands to his sides. Leaning back in his seat, and raising one of his hands to cup his chin, he looked around. Before posing a question.

Aw, that disappointed look was adorable for someone who looks like a half-corpse.
"Well, I have a lot of literary writings of heroic Hoshidans... and a history book of Shirasagi by Sasaki Genji..." Mai answered, she lifted her left hand, "I also have imported narratives and research books from Nohr as well, if you like. Some fascinating reads in those... ah, I have some down here." She reached under the counter and pulled a small stack of books of Nohrian make. They were small books, but their pages were many. "Take a pick."
The books titles read thus: Medical Findings, Pike and Reid's Guide on Animal Tracks, Take and Give, and Little Miss Harriett. Asinine
The boy nodded his head as she spoke, implying he followed her speech. Honestly, the main reason he came to Hoshido however, was to research using books that originated in this location... But while books were important, the boy, quietly shuffling through the books, said with a blank expression, "I've read all of these."
Despite that fact, he didn't offer information to imply books he may not have read, as he stretched a bit to try glancing to the other side of the counter. Being rather short, and not willing to stand up to get a better view than he had from his wheelchair, he couldn't tell if there were any other books immediately there.
The thought about reading about heroic Hoshidans interested him. One thing he intended to find within the History book that he himself carried, was inconsistencies between it, and Nohrian History. He learned it was seldom a History book was completely without bias.

He's read them all already? Someone has a lot of time on their hands... and a lot of gold. These books weren't exactly cheap for imports.
"Well, okay," Mai nodded, she pulled a larger stack of books and slid them toward him, "I'm pretty sure you haven't read all of these, then! Hoshidan literature and historical books. Have a look!" Here's to hoping the Nohrian government disliked Hoshido enough to not allow such books in their country! If that were true, then this boy had a lot of new reading material on his hands. "And, ah, treat them nicely. All books are precious to me." Asinine

Asinine quietly scanned the sides of the books that she just put on the counter. It must of be a sign that he hadn't read them, as he gently grabbed them, pulling them on his lap with the other books he had. He didn't even say thank you, he clearly didn't have the best manners.
"Where will I sleep?" The boy asked quietly, glancing back up at the innkeeper. He was very strange, and he hadn't even offered his name, or anything of the sort.

"Ku..." Mai's eyes became narrow. This boy... surely there was something wrong with his abilities in social interaction.
"Excuse me, young man, but you are forgetting something important." She folded her arms and gave him the eyeball, "I don't know where you come from, but around here we know who the other's name is. Give me something to work with, at least."
Given this kind of request, he had the freedom to say whatever he wished, but after that, that was all she was referring him to. Asinine
The young scholar's eyebrows furrowed slightly. She wanted him to tell her his name? Such a bother.
"Very well." The boy said, glancing around as he spoke, not maintaining eye contact or anything. "My proper name is Marian Eisle, and while I shouldn't expect a Hoshidan to have such information on the spot, the Eisle family is actually a highly esteemed family of scholars." This seemed to be the most he really spoke, and the entire time he seemed disinterested. However, he tacked on the explanation of who he was, as that had a tendency to make people be more willing to give him the best possible service.
"However, you may refer to me as Asinine, as everyone seems to call me that, for some reason." To be entirely honest, the boy had no preference of what he was referred to as.
