A bush sprouted legs, a tree burst open, and a blanket of leaves raised up into the air. Out from their horribly uncomfortable hiding places, they came bellowing whilst flexing their muscles. They discarded their camouflage and leapt in front of Grant’s path.
“Shrub sniper!” Cried one of the three, drawing a bow from his back.
“Shrub shooter!” Another archer followed suit. Pointing an arrow up into the air, he winked.
“Tormenting tree!” The tallest of them shouted as he brandished a naginata in an impressive twirl. “Together we make. . .”
“The Terrible Tree-o!” All the bandits spoke in sync as hey posed. The bowmen aligned themselves to the pikeman’s sides with arrows pulled back on tough strings.
Just when he least expected it the three brigands chose to reveal themselves. Rather extravagantly at that.
Grant began a slow applause.
“All right, now give us all your gold,” the spearman ordered.
Grant began unsheathing a dagger.
Combat Initiated!

Rough terrain, outnumbered three to one and two of the units were ranged. Not the easiest of encounters he had faced so far. Regardless of it's outrageous presentation, he would appreciate the challenge they posed for him.
One possible attack would be to launch a fan of knives in their direction to severely impede them. The problem with that is the lack of throwing knives readily available to him at the moment. Even if he managed to somehow defy all logic and teleport them from a local blacksmith into his grasp, the archers would still deliver a swift retort upon him. His best bet was utilising his melee prowess it seemed.
Knees bent for a split second prior to launching their owner forward at with all the swiftness of a speeding arrow- ironic how he targeted the first archer. A blunt impact to his midsection to render him breathless.

A stream of arrows flew alongside the gleaming blade of a naginata. Their manoeuvres could be compared to an elegant waltz despite the difficult land. When the lancer skewed left to cut upwards, his companion shot right and down. It was as if they reciprocated mentally with one another.
Grimacing, Grant ducked and stepped at every opportunity he had. Out of the flurry, two attacks had managed to tag him and caused him to stumble.

Too continuous of a chain to break. Both the naginata utilised by the brigand and the shots fired from the archer kept him at bay with their range. Dodging would tire them out and cause the archer to run out of ammunition eventually, but the melee combatant seemed to be gaining a lead on him by the second.
A flaw in his footing was succeeded by an incoming jab with the tip of a polearm. "This is the end!" It's weilder shouted.
Grant weaved past the weapon almost instantaneously as he swung the pommel to his enemy's chin. Feigning a moment of weakness had paid off. Plain fury displayed through his irises.

Having the brigands defeated, Grant began the routine of tying them up and relieving them of their belongings. A well fought match between him and them. He would take more caution in bringing them back to turn them in.
