Asinine glanced around blankly, his ears blocking out what sound he could. Filled with disinterest, he turned his head, signalling for his servant to roll him in a different direction. Socialization; such a thing was never his forte. Such a thing was honestly something he'd rather never waste a single second upon.
His presence had been requested, unfortunately it was his duty as the sole heir of the Eisle family, to be here. The point, he knew not, as his arms clutched at a doll he held within his arms. If he had ought to be here, he saw no point in just watching people. Knowledge he could gain from others, wasn't valuable to him, in the least bit.
Finally reaching a halt, in a dark corner, Asinine turned to face outward, as he sat near motionless, staring at the doll he held within his hands.
It was odd being invited to a ball, especially since he was a soldier that had to be stationed on the front lines. But this didn't matter anymore, his father and mother had brought him along to see if any of the Nohrian Ladies would catch his eye. So far none of the ladies around him impressed him, a matter of conscience that Naito was forcing upon himself. You see, in Naito's eyes there are only two women currently within the Nohrian Border that he would dare consider worthy of his surrname. Both of whom had a very strong heart and head. Shaking his head and then prentending to smile at one of the ladies that was admiring him, Naito excused himself to go find something to drink.
Finally, after a few moments talking to another noble, Naito was away from all the hustle and bustle of the ball. Rubbing the top of his head and then rolling his neck, he spoke to himself but aloud. "Balls...the worst thing for a soldier to be at." Naito was a soldier first and foremost, that could easily be read in the way he carried himself, and the way his body was shaped. But most of all, the fact he had a few visible scars was the most telling tale. But, this matter is also no consequence of his. Because as he had spoken his eyes landed on a male not to far from him. This male was well for lack of a better word, lame. His body in a wheelchair and face almost seemed sollen. But, it was the fact that he was present at the ball that interested Naito.
Looking around his eyes had landed on a person that looked similar to the boy in the chair. Ah yes, the Eisle family, thats what it was. Smiling in truth, Naito finally started walking toward the boy. "Well, it seems I am not the only one thinking that balls tend to become rather dull after a while."
Asinine's glance didn't betray the doll he held ever so firmly. Examining its features, with scrutiny, he was fixated much moreso than should be considered common of an ordinary person.
"Your statement implies that it wasn't dull to begin with; a point where we differ." The young man stated ever so plainly, his voice steady and near robotic sounding. He shifted lightly to the side, his gaze not raising to meet the other, nor did he pose questions that would be common courtesy. He had no value of things so pointless.
"Did you perchance have a reason to shatter my meaningless solitude?"
"Well some events such as this can be entertaining." Naito replied with a curt nod before his eyes shifted to that of the doll Asinine was playing with. As such he became more curious about the boy in front of him. "Solitude can be quite boring, but perhaps that is the way you have been raised? So maybe I can interest you in a game of chess?"
He wanted to know more about this boy before he began judging him.
"I suppose it's more entertaining than my actual duties." He mumbled to himself, as he seemed slow to speak, and slow to move. Even though he said this... It still wasn't entertaining to the young man in the least, no point of such a thing, was visible to him.
He glanced away from his doll briefly, looking to the other. "Chess? I suppose it could prove to be an acceptable way to pass the time... Did you bring a chess set, or must I look for one?" His dull tone hid any sense of excitement, which could be considered bothersome.
