A rough smell came from the door as they pushed it open. Clucking followed it. Sneaking inside, they found a great deal of chickens in rather cramped cages. Bags of chicken seed and rotting piles of meet filled the air. Flies buzzed about. As they two looked in, soldier charged from behind. They were pushed inside. Two brigands held their blades out.

The pungent smell was nauseating however, Grant stood unaffected. He would disregard the smell in favour of focusing on the battle before him.
To most it would appear to be a simple fight in favour of the knight and the butler’s side. On the contrary, magic was often devastating when facing heavy combatants. This was the case he held in mind as the second brigand summon forth a great translucent figure.
An ox. Space was a limiting factor for larger beings, yet the butler knew that escape into a narrower area was out of the question seeing as the door was shut behind them. The spirit reeled down it’s horned forehead while scraping back a single cloud of dust using one of it’s hooves.
A light ringing of metal marked the point at which Grant swung forth his hands while drawing both his bronze daggers in the process. As he shifted himself into a combat ready stance, his voice dropped to a whisper for @deacon. “I shall engage the caster. Please attempt an assault on his companion before he does so to you.” His knives were held in a reverse grip and his eyes targeted whom he spoke of. “The weapon is strange to me, yet it seems numerous and sharp enough to prove as a detriment in your armour.”
Not two moments after he bound forth into a sprint straight for what appeared to be the ox itself rather than the caster.
The bandit cackled heartily. “Are you an idiot?” He asked as he raised a hand to control his servant- sending it straight at him.
Grant is initiating combat! Damage is halved on this turn.

Grant: 17/18
The butler had nearly managed to evade his spirit with a simple sidestep. Nearly. If not for it being guided by the mage he might have gotten away. Through it's random trashing, it managed to lightly slam it's side onto Grant's own as he continued to dash by.
Upon coming into range, the young man flung his left hand to the right to send one of his daggers through the air in a direct motion in return to the bandit.

His aim struck true. The bandit was met with a dagger in his armour- causing him to stumble backwards with eyes wide as Grant closed in.

Immediately after they had entered the room, the desperate struggle had begun!
"Whoa-ho-ho!" Deacon exclaimed as the stench flooded his nostrils, "This is just absolutely..." Without even getting a chance to finish his sentence, two bandits suddenly pushed them in!
Upon turning around, the knight unsheathed his lance and studied their opponents briefly. Already, Grant had given him an opening with the diviner!

"Touché!" Deacon exclaimed as he pursued and struck the diviner across the head with his lance.

"Oi!" the other bandit yelled, "Don't ignore me!"

The bandit threw his shuriken at the knight, only for them to bounce off of his armor!
"Hm, deja vu," the knight commented with a raise of his eyebrow, "Grant, let us focus on the spirit user!"1-100·1-100
The butler stood right before the diviner who at the time was frantically attempting to recall his ox spirit back to him. “D-Damn it!” He stuttered, grasping the section of his head from where he was hit. The magical being was having trouble turning itself around after it’s prior charge. “Wait! Before you do anything hasty, why don’t you take some time to consider your situation here?” The man forced a nervous smile, hoping his question would buy more time for his spirit to turn.
“I have,” stated Grant with an utmost calm air to his tone. “You’re in my range.”
Grant pulled out the dagger stuck to his armour, and proceeded to slam it’s pommel into the side of his chin.

A solemn thud marked the point at which the diviner fell to the ground. He was unconscious for the most part; tying him up and hauling him back to camp might prove to be useful for gathering more information about the area. Though, that activity could be saved for after the battle had been concluded.
"Aha! Excellent work, Grant !" the knight cheered as he turned toward the next opponent, "Now we're two to one! Do you wish to surrender?!"
The lone bandit spat on the ground and struck a low pose with his shuriken between his fingers, "I've got a better idea... how about we make this one on one?" After he had spoken, he immediately started running off to Deacon's side, targeting Grant.

"What!" the knight exclaimed as he pursued the ninja, "I say! You'll pay for that!"

With a boosted dash of his feet, Deacon twisted around and swung the lance down across the ninja's chest.
The thing about targeting Grant with an attack like that was that if he had not been finished off by a singular shot, the idea of attempting it in the first place was rather redundant on the bandit’s part. Though, the butler did take into account that the ninja was thinking ahead of time and was likely bothered by the fact that his friend/companion/acquaintance/person-he-was-just-talking-to had just been taken out quicker than he would have ever have.
“Uncouth.” He sighed, pulling out the shrunken from his shoulder. Almost as soon as he did, the wound began to close. “Though I suppose you should be awarded points for effort.” The butler adopted a rather mocking tone.

He was sure of it. By the resounding impact of the lance against his chest, the ninja had sustained immense damage. In truth, Grant realised that he did not need to do much to finish the fight. He knew that one more strike is an inevitable attempt of the foe. Nevertheless, he could at least try to derive some enjoyment from the encounter; @deacon seemed to display extreme enthusiasm, perhaps it would do him good to make some fun of it.
"Oh dear, it appears as though it is about time for you to make your exit." The young butler adjusted his collar with his eyes closed before gazing at the brigand with a cold expression. "Be careful not to get lanced on your way out," he snapped his right index finger and thumb together.
The ninja's face became ghastly as the butler healed himself.
"That's..." he grunted as he held his arm across his chest, "That's just dirty...!!!"
"Hmhm! So you are, and this room as well!" Deacon quipped with a glint in his eye.

With a shudder, the ninja turned to run, but he was a second too late. The knight thrust his lance down and pinned the fabric of the ninja onto the ground, causing him to trip and fall backward on the filthy ground. Thus, without a moment to spare, Deacon kicked the head of the ninja in the temple with the heel of his boot, effectively knocking the sod out cold.
"There!" he exclaimed with a sigh and glanced back to Grant , "Looks like we've got some interrogation on our hands. What say you and I mosey on back to camp with our captives?" nvmore 1-100
“I would second the notion,” Grand responded with mild cheer. He stripped apart a piece of cloth with his danger to begin tying their hands together. At last the battle was over and he could relax, not for long, but it was something at least. “I appreciate your follow up during this fight, Sir @deacon . Any information they provide might be valuable- we cannot rule that possibility out.” After stating his piece, he found a tome and a key of sorts on them.
He held up the tome with two fingers, weighing the key in his other hand. “Curious how these people to keep things that they have no use for.” He knelt down briefly to heave the diviner over his left shoulder. “Would you mind if I were to keep this key?” The butler asked as he stood upright once more. “As with the wand you possess, I too have someone who might like something from here.”
He held both the key and the book out towards the knight.
Thus the spoils were: A. a key of rich adornment, and B. a Nohrian tome of Fire. As much as the key was tantalizing, Grant's wishes were not to be disregarded.
"Well, in that case," Deacon nodded, he took the tome, "I will concur!" That said, the knight lifted the ninja over his shoulder and beckoned for Grant to follow, "Come along then, I'm sure Strategist Yukimura would be happy that we spared a few from the sword. After all, they are still young and their minds have the ability to change."
“My thanks go to you,” Grant pocketed the master key. In truth he had no use for it currently despite it’s usefulness. Though, he did want to save it for someone else- such a useful item did not come up every other day. His only hope was that it would not have to be used during the course of this raid.
“Hmmm,” The butler closed his eyes in quiet contemplation as he walked. Not more than a few seconds later a laugh escaped him, he opened them once more. “And to think one battle ago our ways differed from each other.” He shook his head slowly. “I would not be surprised if they change to imitate your admirable enthusiasm and righteousness, Sir @deacon .”
