"Yeah thanks kid." Ethan said, chasing after Lydia as she stormed away from the children. Catching up to her, he said "This is the perfect place to kidnap someone. So many people here, no one was going to notice if one person went missing." He sighed "Calm down. We'll find your friend. It wont be hard." He smiled "Hey I told you though. They may be brats, but kids see things we don't."
Ethan carried his newfound ally down the stairs leading to Cyrkensia's shadier side. Moonlight glanced of the shifting waters and numerous ships lined broken, unsteady docks.
"She's got to be around here somewhere. Noway they left yet."

Calm down? This guy had to be mad. Lydia was as calm as she could be. She wasn't just going to sit by idly and let slavers take her friend. She kept her eyes focused on the path before her rather that acknowledging the man's statement. Keep calm. Sure. Instead, "Hmm~" the woman tapped her chin. As she remembered it, Ethan had seemed a bit hesitant when it came to giving the children what they asked for in exchange. "You were right. It is a useful bit of information, I'll have to remember it." Just, hopefully she wouldn't need to use it again.
The moonlight reflected upon the active waters of the ocean. The docks were lonely at this time of day. Only a few fishermen had been out and about readying their boats for their morning trip out. A few fisherman, and a man and a dwarf. Lydia tugged on her companion. "There!" She started moving fast towards the pair who were retreating across the pier.
Ethan listened intently. A person wouldn't really keep calm, if they were ignored. Then Lydia pointed across the docks. Their targets walked with purpose. Backs straight, they had a dominating sense about them. Feeling Lydia tug him, Ethan was practically dragged after her. Two people who had been watching them broke their disguise.
"Where you going in such a hurry?" One of the ruffians said.

The woman stumbled back by the sudden appearance of the two men. She felt her heart drop. The men could get away. Lydia bit her lip but was able to compose herself. She drew in a breath and walked up to the men with frown upon her face. It was clear she was worried. "Sorry sirs, I need to catch a boat," she told them. Her fingers twitched by her side. Her daggers were close as they always were. She wasn't going to let them block her. "Excuse me," she made no move to attack, but she was ready. Instead she tried to shuffle around the guys.
The ruffian stood firm and Lydia simply bumped into him. He grinned down at her, devious ideas flashing through his eyes "Just you wait. Hows bout you and me gets to know each other."
"We don't have time for this. I'm warning you buddy. Back off." Ethan said.
"Or what?" The ruffian's friend said.
"Or you're going for a swim, one you won't be coming back from." Ethan said aggressively.

The look the man held disgusted Lydia. His words, that look. She knew what he was thinking of. Instinct told her to back away. Leave this man alone. But her friend was so close to her. She had to help Antionette. Lydia moved closer to the man despite her better judgement and flicked her dagger out. "I said I am running late. Listen to my friend and move aside." Or he would get to know her in ways he wasn't expecting. "My friend is leaving and I need to stop her."
"If I moved aside, I would get to know you." The man said aggressively.
"Alright enough of this." Ethan drew his sword, butting the man in front of him in the chest. As he doubled over, Ethan pushed him over the ledge. He splashed into the water below. Ethan swung at the other brigand.
"Lydia! GO get you friend."

Her companion had reacted fast. Lydia wouldn't waste any more time with this. One man in the water already, left just one other for Ethan to take care of. He seemed capable. Hopefully. The maid picked up the hem of her dress and darted down the dock towards where her friend had last been seen. "Thank you. Be careful," she said in her passing.
In the earlier commotion, Lydia had lost sight of the two men and her friend. All she knew was the area. She stood in the middle of the dock and listened to the waves that lapped against the pier. The sound of voices was barely there. Left. Lydia had turned and walked towards that boat. It was a rundown ship, which only made it easier to overlook. She moved closer to it, the dock creaking under her feet. There had to be an easy way on. Lydia thought about chasing these people down, but never what she would do the moment she encountered them. What do you say to a slaver? She bit her lip as she thought. The chances that this was a big misunderstanding was slim.
The other man jumped back, dodging Ethan's strike with ease. A foot followed after and caught the brigand in the chest. Dirty hands wrapped Ethan's foot and took control of his balance. The brigand smiled as he pushed him towards the dock. "Oi tell me laddie. Can ye swim?"
Ethan looked down towards the water as his back was pushed against the flimsy bar. He drew a dagger from his waist and jammed it into the man's hand. The brigand let go with a pain fueled scream. Ethan shoulder charged him and placed distance between the two. Ethan tried to draw his sword, but the brigand kicked his handle back into its scabbard. Ethan drew closer, pulling the sword out inches to strike him with the butt of its hilt. The man stumbled back as Ethan drew his sword and cut the brigand down.
He turned down the steps and rushed after Lydia.
