Bright and Early Grant and Hada Within the tavern, then without Early Morning, approximately 6 in the morning
As the sun made its sleepy ascent into the heavens, Hada rose from her bed and stretched her arms. It was about time to meet with her new acquaintance for breakfast, then get out there on the road.
Let's see... cloak, check... clothes, check... bone dagger, check... Dragonstone...
She reached up to a blue earring on the lobe of her right ear.
Check.
With that, the woman cloaked herself and walked down the staircase to the dining area. She sat on the same table as she had the night before and awaited Grant's appearance.

As Grant awoke he did so with a long, rolling inhale. On the one hand, he did not dislike waking up early in the morning. On the other hand he did rather to the feeling of grogginess. Even so, the butler awakened not to fatigue, but to freshness. The lack of work taxed his body less and the long rest rejuvenated him.
All there was for him to do was get dressed. . . At which point he noticed a great hole in his vest and shirt from the time a brigand violently attempted to acquaint Grant to his lance and relieve him of his belongings. It was quite large and located at the side of where his stomach would be when he had worn it. It seemed as if his vest had suffered the brunt of the damage while the white shirt had been stained brown from his own dried blood.
This made him all the more unsure of how he did not notice it earlier, though he would not pause to lament his obviously ruined garments. From one of his burlap bags he pulled another of the aforementioned clothes to wear. The fact that he only had a few left and he planned on washing and regularly using them caused him slight annoyance.
Not long after his stir from sleep and clothing himself, he headed downstairs with his belongings in bag.
There he was! Seems he was prepared to go for the long haul. Hada raised her head and leaned back in her seat, "Grant . Over here." She beckoned him gently with a hand in the air. "We've a few things to discuss before we head out."
The topics weren't anything too serious, yet they still had enough significance to consider.
Of course, the waitress recognized the young butler and immediately approached him, "Sir, would you like us to serve breakfast to you? This morning we're serving corn meal, eggs, and potatoes."

To greet the sight of her, he nodded. The young man began to make his way to the able. However he was interrupted by the waitress. The prospect of a meal at last. Grant smiled at the waitress. “For two please,” he raised a hand to gesture towards Hadassah in the same place she was yesterday. “I have a companion who I think would much appreciate a meal.” Having stated his piece, he went off to the opposite end of the tavern.
Even in the morning the room felt just as dark as the night before. It was early in the morning no doubt though not as bright as Grant hoped it would be. He still could not see the facial features of his hooded acquaintance.
“Good Morning, Miss Hada." A chipper, yet smooth greeting departed him. "What is it that you wish to discuss?”
Corn meal, eggs, and potatoes? How could anyone subsist off of eggs to start the day? No wonder everyone here was so scrawny and angular! Surely they would take a trip to the market afterwards to get something a little more substantial for them.
Yes, yes... that would be a good plan...
The woman pulled a piece of thin leather from her cloak and lay it on the table, her arms crossed with a sense of pride, "Our route. This is a map that I've put together over my years of travel across the land." The map appeared as if a child had scribbled across it with a thin piece of charcoal. "This is my most recent map. It lists major sights and safe shelters across the land."

Simplicity at it’s finest. It did not appear to be overloaded with information nor attention to detail, though what was important remained and Grant had no trouble reading the map. It fascinated him. Compared to Ylisse with it’s three countries, this continent had been split almost perfectly in twain by a canyon of some sort. Such a strange geographical feature conveniently precisely in the middle of two warring nations. For now the butler would pay no heed to it; there were so many other places to keep track of which looked far more interesting compared to a hole in the ground.
Without knowing what the places were he had his eye on Kitsuki- a hamlet within the hills of Hoshido. A place such as that might make be great for a short excursion on his own free time to possibly see the sights. The architecture and flora he had seen so far was immensely different from what he was familiar with- that much caught his attention on the first day he arrived. Presently however, he wished to hear more of Hadassah’s own opinion on where they should start; it would be very unwise to simply pick a location of which he had no clue of.
An index finger of his tapped the table twice, and then once to the map. To say the least, Grant was more excited at finally beginning his true journey. Nevertheless he made sure to remain composed- displaying no sort of enthusiasm, only his regular calm self. “And just like that you have somehow enhanced my already high interest.” His left palm unfolded in the air as he spoke; it waved ever so slightly between sentences. “Where do you suggest we head to?” At last his hand had settled down to the table after he asked his question.
High interest? Wasn't he just eager to get this show on the road? Sharing an adventure with any person is sure to generate enthusiasm. People often think like that: the memories they'll have! The people they'll meet! Oh, and the sites that they'll see...!
... At least, something along those lines. Hada figured she'd seen the land from its top to bottom by now, although humans are still in short order of impressing her. Maybe Grant would prove some form of entertainment while they're off on their adventure, and on that end, she'll show him a thing or two on how to make it out in the wilds.
Regardless, their route had to be somewhat safe. There were rumors that bandits were rising in numbers due to lack of leadership in the local forts, so those places were a no-no, and from experience the Woods of the Forlorn was to be avoided under any circumstance. If they can at least make it to Windmire, then they can circle around through the bridges above the Bottomless Canyon, and make their way to the village by Fort Jinya and plan their route through Hoshido.
"We'll make for Cheve," spoke Hada as she pointed at the marking of the city, "It's about a three day journey on foot, one if you're a wyvern rider." She brought her arms and cleared her throat, "Problem is, neither of us are, and I would avoid bringing horses so that we don't have to worry about feeding them."

“Sound reasoning,” Grant said with a small nod. There was not much for him to say beyond that; he was almost completely unfamiliar with the continent as a whole. In any case, he was still far too curious about his acquaintance. Almost akin to the land, he had no knowledge of who she was apart from her name. Even in that comparison he only knew a shortened version of the latter.
His gaze drifted briefly towards the bar. The waitress was no where in sight, although he did hear a diminutive sizzling emerging from behind the kitchen door- a clear sign that the food was being prepared. Figuring he still had a few minutes or so to kill before eating, the butler decided to attempt to satisfy some portion of his curiosity.
Speaking would be undeniably easy by nearly any one’s standards. Asking about another without provoking any negative emotion however, would be a daunting task. One could never assume other people have had a comfortable past. More often than not the common folk have their own forms of hardship to face. As with dodging in combat, it would be almost always better to avoid a harsh incoming rather than to defend against what it has to offer.
Thinking about different methods to socialise with others made Grant feel slightly inhuman. Most other people would not be as cold or calculative without a reason, and as far as he was concerned he had no plans to swindle anyone he met- much less someone who showed him some extent of kindness. Therefore he chose to speak naturally, even if he would not wear his heart on his sleeve. The unnerving foresight could be saved for a battlefield.
“Miss Hada,” he brought his hands into a soft grasp within one another. “As you have stated the evening prior, you are curious for the details regarding me.” Leaning back on the headrest of his chair, he brought a single index finger to an incline. “And I in turn feel the same,” Grant paused for a moment, unsure if he should carry on with a question.
Then he shook his head. “I suppose it might be selfish to ask of you when I have not said much about myself either,” the butler lowered his arms back to his sides. “My apologies for being so brazen.”
Hada gave him an inquisitive stare until a smile broke across her face, "In short, you would like to know more about Hada?" A chuckle reverberated in her throat, "Hmhmhm... I understand. It's not fair for me to know your personal information without giving a bit of mine." The woman leaned against the armrest of her chair and sighed quietly, "... However, now isn't the best time to share a lot of myself. I will at least tell you that I am a vagrant wanderer that goes from place to place, surviving mostly on natural resources, and making coin by trading goods."
She lifted a finger toward Grant, "I don't typically stay within an inn unless it's either neutral or Hoshidan. This city, Cykrensia, Notre Sagesse across the sea, the Wind Tribe's village, these are just some of those places. Nohr would be more willing to welcome you given your..." Her head tilted up and down gently, "... stately appearance and demeanor."

Not much more needed to be said by his companion; Grant was content with her answer. Curiosity was a fickle emotion. He had not fully vanquished his own, yet for now it could be sated and the butler would not have any conflict bestowing his trust for his acquaintance.
Be that as it may, a slight factor remained. Had seemed, to some extent, troubled as she spoke of matters concerning herself or Nohr. The signs had shown themselves as well on the day before while they discussed Nohrian nobles. He took this as his cue to shift the focus of the conversation.
Since she had told more of herself it was only fair that he do the same. Nonetheless, there was not much he could exactly tell her without coming off as odd or rather boring. ‘I have a tendency to actively seek out a fight’ would be a completely insane, random phrase to utter and ‘I came to this continent out of impulse’ seemed no better. While there are many ways to express his perspective, he found none that excluded lies of omission and at the same time would conclude in him making himself look like a fool.
Once again, his most natural response appeared to be his best.
“Thank you kindly,” Grant returned her previous smile with one of his own. His tone shifted to emphasise his words in jest, “I do make an effort.”
A little after she had spoken, the waitress had returned with two plates full of their breakfast meal and placed them down on the table. A set of wooden utensils followed, and finally a pair of cups filled with water.
"Your breakfast of corn meal, eggs and potatoes!" she announced cheerfully before returning to the kitchen.
Hada stared at the plate, then at the utensils. Her hand slowly reached out toward a spoon and picked it up to glare at it. With as much hesitation as anyone could observe, she awkwardly held it tightly in her entire palm before plunging it sideways into the corn meal.
"This... concept..." she mumbled with shuddering shoulders, "It... shouldn't... be this... hard to understand..." It wouldn't have been readily apparent, but her face began to turn a tint of red. Grant

The young butler nodded at the waitress and gave his thanks to the waitress. At last he could get his first proper meal in Nohr. Not a grand one by any means, but proper nonetheless. Any moment longer of a wait would cause his stomach to growl almost as if it were undergoing a torture by it’s owner.
One of the things that the table missed was a knife of some sort. Too true that Grant had his own, but he would rather not use the same daggers he weaponises in combat to cut potatoes. Duly, he lifted up a wooden fork and brought it to a mostly vertical slant before slicing his own potatoes into smaller halves.
A slight crisp crumble betrayed his ears. Baked as one would notice; he could appreciate it in spite of him preferring a little more hard of a texture.
As any one would do, Grant stabbed the piece of potato before bringing it to his mouth. However, he paused- turning his attention towards Hadassah . “Are you quite all right, Miss Hada?” He asked, cocking an eyebrow in mild concern.
One could notice Hada suddenly jolt at his question, but soon after she relaxed herself and sighed. She glanced up, then peered at Grant's hands.
Ah...! That's how you hold it? Hmm... I haven't gotten a good look until now. How classy... I know I had determined that I wouldn't have need of these pieces of carved material, yet the standard of this society demands that one knows how to use them. Surely if I eat with my hands, he would be disgusted, as would anyone else in this room watching us...
Almost subconsciously, she had stood up and started leaning closer toward Grant in avid curiosity of how he held the utensil.

Hiding behind his calm demeanour was a layer of slight astonishment and extreme confusion. He was unsure if he had done something rude or offensive, or even a mixture of both in noticeable amounts. Apologising appeared to be the most straightforward thing do to, but what he had to apologise for was absolutely and utterly beyond him.
Grant felt like he was being eyed down by a sentry of a wild beast guarding it’s territory. Then he realised he had been holding the potato piece close to his mouth for about a minute without eating it. Even if he was still unable to make eye contact with Hadassah as her hood obscured the aforementioned facial feature, he could almost be certain that she was staring daggers at him.
And so, he slowly inserted the food into his mouth to begin to nervously chew.
Hada looked up and smiled in amusement, "My apologies, Grant." She plopped back into her seat and picked up her spoon once more, "As of yet, I am still... studying proper etiquette with these... feeding utensils. As you might guess... I don't use these very often..."
However, that didn't mean she didn't pick up on how to use them by scrutinizing him! She took the spoon in her hand and emulated in her hands how Grant had held his. Then, with some notable excitement, she dug in with a childlike cheerfulness.
