He was undecided of how to receive what he was told. The person we was speaking to seemed rather passionate about her take on the nobles- that much he could not deny. Grant felt that her words had some bearing of truth in them, but he simple could not accept them too soon. Feigning strong emotion is an effective tool to those who use the art of deception.
Then again, Grant knew that he had no reason to purposefully discredit the sentiments his newly made it acquaintance. After all, the cloaked being had not exactly been rude in any way. Thus, he decided to take some trust.
"I see." Grant adjusted his posture straight in his seat. He nodded reassuringly to the figure before raising a single palm. "There is no need to apologize, I am thankful of your warning."
Again, he was unsure of how to proceed from there. "Perhaps I should find some sort of guide for this journey," Grant announced as his palm descended. "Would you per chance know of any?"
The woman bobbed her head to his word of thanks, "Yes, yes..."
Her hands appeared as she locked her fingers together to rest against the table, "A guide, you say? Well... a likely candidate would be..."
A guide, hm... she knew no better guides to the land than herself. Having survived on the land and lived through rough times, she had definitely toughened enough to be able to handle whatever was thrown at them.
"Well, Grant, if it makes it any easier..." Hada reached for her water cup, "I'm particularly capable of assisting you. I'm a wanderer who has gone through both the lands of Nohr and Hoshido and experienced what the land has to offer. Not only that, but I've learned many skills of survival that will put you at ease when we've reached a tight spot." A smile crossed her lips, "Suffice to say, I live off of the land and would rather not typically deal directly with civilization. What say you?"

Hearing the offer sent a slight shiver down his spine. It was not as if Grant had any reason to fear her, nevertheless he felt the need to contemplate the decision. Not too long ago the same person was looking at him as if he were an escaped convict and now- proposing to give him a a wide view of the land that he seeks. It was suspicious no doubt and still he was compelled to consider it. The deal seemed almost too good to be true.
“Well.” The young man brought his two palms together. He perked his head up a little in order to let himself examine his acquaintance. “I suppose I do not have anything to lose by accepting,” Grant declared with a mild flair in his tone. “Though, if you do not mind me asking- I have a question.”
“Please do forgive my impudence,” he left hand released his right and following that, he raised said right with his palm facing the person ahead. “I do not doubt your kindness. However I am curious. What might you have to gain from this?”
Ah, yes... a good question for him to ask, and the answer itself was fairly simple. Before she answered, she took a quiet sip from her cup.
"What I gain, you say?" Hada spoke with an inquiring tone, "Mmm... there are many things I would gain from an adventure with yourself, and they wouldn't necessarily be tangible objects. Suffer me to say what they might be..." The cup was placed back down, "Who you are, what you are, whether you are smarter than you appear, where you came from, and perhaps what it is you may stumble over. I am more interested in the minds of people rather than physical gains."
She held her hands astride, "All this I ask as payment. Is that too expensive for you, Grant?"

Grant froze. His mouth was barely agape. He was unable to formulate his words- much less compose himself. It was his fist time hearing someone be so blunt and immensely respectable simultaneously. Frankly, he was touched. Never before in his life had he met a person compared to whom which remained seated only a meter away from him. Perhaps there were more people who pertained those such admirable grace in one's perspective to be met in the future. In any case, what mattered was the present. He smiled.
Wisdom, charisma and a strong will. Someone who had all three in great amounts would be well off in life. Such a person, Grant did not imagine he would meet. This inspired him. Perhaps he might have found another reason to stay in this land. A person who was worth following.
"I do not believe it that it is, Miss Hada," he began to stand up upon his two feet. His posture straightened as he raised his right palm to fold over his chest. "Then it is settled, I shall follow you."
A man of few words, but the understanding was clear. Whether or not Grant knew what he was getting into, it was clear that he was ready to go the distance with her.
"Then we have an accord," the woman responded with a gentle incline of her body, "While this is technically your adventure, I find no trouble in guiding you by the hand. Furthermore, I will educate you on the happenings of our time so that you can better understand beyond the conflict of the two nations so that you're not kept out of the loop."
Hada picked up her cup and drank all the water down, then put it back on the table, "The night is far spent, and I wouldn't have us travel in darkness. We'll stay overnight with bed and breakfast at this tavern, then tomorrow we will take to the road. What say you?"

“So we shall,” he replied prior to walking towards the counter. While perhaps not as experienced or keen witted as Grant assumed she was, he hoped to provide at least some sort of use in whatever the future had in store for them- whether it may be in combat or leisurely exploring.
Still, he remained curious as to why she decided to stay concealed within such a large cloak. So very much so. It was true that they were near the border of Nohr, in spite of that he did not feel cold in the slightest and the weather seemed kind enough on him for that day. Upon reaching the counter he discarded the train of thought.
Obtaining the rooms proved to be a simple task for him. A quick exchange of words and a few nods with the tavern keeper concluded the deal. Refuge and breakfast in the morning- easily affordable by the butler. Of course, being a foreigner meant most people trying to make a quick gold piece by setting higher prices, especially so considering his attire. All the same, Grant knew his prices well. He would not be played for a fool.
As he returned to the table he held two steel keys. One in his left hand and another in his right closer to Hadassah . “Your room awaits you upstairs. The second on the left," he spoke in a a mildly hushed voice as not to disturb the other patrons. "Is there anything else you might require?"
Hada observed him as he dealt with the innkeeper of the tavern. His eloquence as a butler had proven to be profitable as he vouched for her, after all, she wouldn't have gone herself to ask the keeper regardless of the comfort of safe walls and warm beds.
Once he had come to her with the keys, Hada took one and pulled it within her cloak, "That would be all, Grant. I appreciate you sacrificing your gold for me." She started walking up the staircase and stopped midway briefly, "... Ah." She cleared her throat--perhaps now wasn't the best time to share stories. "I'll see you in the morning, then, Grant. Bright and early."
With that, she resumed her pace up the stairs.

‘Bright and early’. The butler was not troubled at having to do that much. His body was already acclimated to a similar schedule, albeit with later nights and more physically demanding work during the day. He felt out of place without having to carry out the odd jobs that he usually did. Although the change was sudden, he did not pay much heed to it. Having less work during his first day meant his body would be able to get the rest that Grant had been depriving it of by exerting himself so harshly.
The tavern keeper was preparing to lock up for the night. A sign that the butler might as well head to sleep for the night in his own room. There was no reason for him to do otherwise and so he did.
His first day in a strange land, his first night in a strange land- both concluded for better or worse.
