Lisette walked by with almost all the energy one could expect out of a perpetually paranoid rabbit person. She liked seeing people, but she wasn't going to lie, the crowded streets were nerve-racking, and at times dangerous. Her short stature had a tendency to benefit her, but she still couldn't help but feel a tad bit helpless around the city.
The taguel was headed home, after a long day at the tailor shop. It was before sundown, but she really didn't have much to do with her day. With a cheery smile, she tried to walk off to the side of the crowd, to avoid getting completely lost. But suddenly, a dilemma produced itself to her, a gust of wind sent her little hat flying, her eyes widened, as she jumped after, in an attempt to catch it. "E-Eh?!" Missing quite easily, she tried to continue after it, not wanting it to become lost forever.
She could just sew another, but instead she chased after her hat.
Oh a floating hat. Oliver reached up with his cane and caught it with the pointed hook, yanking it down out of the air with his right hand so that the bowl of the hat rested in his left. As a result he put a small hole in the hat and looked around at the crowd.
Having just finished dealing with a particular elf, Oliver saw to it to continue exploring Cyrkensia. The merchant quarter of the little city-town-whatever, was more than quaint enough for him. Looking at the hat, Oliver moved his lips about, pulling his cheeks as if flexing them, ruminating as to whether he should repair the hat and keep it or find the owner.
Though the owner quickly approached and made herself known to himself. A pink haired girl with rabbit ears? It was something that made his eyes glint with curiosity. Of course he heard stories back in Old Haven, but to find someone that actually fit the description? Oliver jogged over to her, "Sorry about that, it was a bit out of my normal reach so I grabbed it with what I could." he offered her the hat and gave her a close-eyed smile, beaming his teeth at her.
If the tailor took a good look, she could see how tattered his jacket and the rest of his clothing were after not having much of a different wardrobe up until this point. Nothing but a bag slung over his back, Oliver was someone who might need an update to his wardrobe or at least some spare outfits.
Lisette's eyes widened as soon as he seemed to get her hat, but sighed in relief, as the man approached. "Oh no worries, no worries, totally no worries!" Lisette exclaimed, talking really quickly, as she had grabbed her hat back. She really needed to figure out a way to get small hats to stay on. This hat seriously fell off all the time.
Glancing at the hole, she clutched it a bit closer to her. She could fix it easily. As she finally paid a bit of attention to the other person, she looked aside awkwardly. "Sorry you had to catch it, haha..." She stated with an awkward nod.
It wasn't really hard to see the issues with his clothing, after all, she put great value on the quality of clothing, and feeling a sense of owing she quickly continued, "If you'd like, as thanks I could fix up some of your clothes, or something? I'm like a tailor, err umm! Yeah!" She nodded her head vigorously, as she spoke more than she personally felt necessary.
Oliver handed the peculiar hat back to the rabbit girl, cheerfully at that. "Oh it's no problem, it's odd shape caught my interest." He commented on the odd shape of the hat, pointing it out as plain as day to the taguel. As she took it back and examined it, he leaned over to examine it with her, "Is it a special hat?"
She broke the conversation train by mentioning his own clothing. Lifting one foot off the ground and spreading his arms to look under them, the hoodie wearing spear fighter examined himself, trying to get an idea of what she meant. Aside from the bright red scarf around his neck, he didn't pay much attention, but now that she mentioned it, his clothes were a bit knackered.
"Oh you'd help me with my lucky jacket? I'd really appreciate it!" Oliver leaned forward, clasping her hands in his, eyes happy and a hopeful smile on his face.
She glanced at it for a moment before chuckling. "No, not really... But it was made for this outfit, and so it'd really suck if I had to make a new one!" She stated with a cheery nod, before glancing around then back.
She was actually a bit shocked someone was nice enough to help with that, after all most people really didn't like her, just because of her ears. Kind of strange and unfortunate, but she got over such a thing, after a lifetime.
She was a bit shocked at such sudden movements, awkwardly trying to lean slightly back, and look at the ground. "Of course, I can totally help you with it!" She spoke quickly, before looking back up with a reassuring smile. She glanced around immediately after though. Most likely she'd have to have somewhere to work at, as it was pretty hard to work with no table, or anything.
"I just left from the place I work, if you want, we could head over there, and I could fix it up!" She gave a vigorous nod at that idea, awkwardly trying to pull her hands away so she could lead the way.
Oliver nodded to the idea, deciding to follow after the rabbit girl before letting her hands go so she could lead the way.
Along the way Oliver would ask her a question, "Is that a uniform for where you work? Or just your own personal decision to wear something that draws attention? Besides the bright pink hair though." He chuckled and walked up next to the girl and smiled at her, trying to show he wanted to make some conversation.
"I was thinking of getting some different outfits, if I have to head up to the Ice Tribe I would want to dress warmly--would it take long to make anything like that?"
She smiled a bit awkwardly, as she let out a little laugh, "W-Well! I wasn't going for standing out, moreso being fashionable of course, of course!" She stated, pretty quickly, she couldn't help but assume she was being immensely annoying. A common thought, but present nonetheless.
She suddenly straightened up at his suggestion though, and looked forward, before stretching out a hand, and seeming to gesture as she thought things out. "Well, I suppose I probably have some stuff ready... But hmm if I was to make something special, it might take like um... An hour?" She stated ever so plainly, her eyebrows furrowed, as she started scratching her forehead. "I think... But yeah I can make lots of clothing!"
Oliver smiled at the taguel girl and nodded to everything she said. He met someone interesting, and they were gonna help him fix up his attire and get a new wardrobe!
"Say--do you think you can help me out with my scarf too? You know, in case it has to be repaired a bit. It's kind of special." He held up a part of his scarf, holding great sentimental value to it from his father.
At the end of the day, Oliver would be writing about this in his journal and taking some time to free write for his own book he was working on. "Is clothing the only thing you do Miss--" He trailed off the end of his question, trying to ask her name.
"O-Oh! Okay!" She nodded her head, in response to his scarf query. She couldn't help but worry helping with all of this would end up costing a lot of money though... The money was coming out of her pocket, after all, her boss wouldn't appreciate such a waste. As she thought of this, her head began to hurt a bit.
As he followed up, her eyes widened. She had been being rude, not introducing herself. Giving a smile she spoke. "Oh um, my name's Lisette, err my last name's Lindstrom, um... Nice to meet you!" Awkward, she couldn't help it, and she glanced downward. "But yeah err umm... I guess I have no life, hahaha!" She laughed to make the idea of sewing being the only thing she does, sound less depressing than it truly was.
"Anyway, whaddabout you? You have a name too right?" She stated, as she continued walking along, a bit of pep in her step. "Oh... Oh yeah what kind of job do you have too?"
Oliver smiled, listening to the taguel girl. Lisette Lindstrom was a nice name. "I wouldn't say that's no life. Anyone who's getting eaten by a mauthe doog or anyone having their face being beaten by a faceless has no life. Logic of that all you know."
"Name's Oliver, Oliver Oxford. Seems our parents favored alliteration eh?" He asked while moving off along with the taguel. "I make my life as a wandering bard. To be honest I'm a spear fighter from Old Haven. I'm looking around the map for the supposed New Haven." Oliver spoke to her, letting her know what he was up to.
The rabbit girl let out a little chuckle, as a hand covered her mouth a bit. "I guess you're right about that, aren't you?" She said a bit cheerfully, internally having the desire to try to force her point. However, she didn't want to come off as whiny, regardless of how true such a thing may be.
"It's a pleasure!" She exclaimed, as she heard his introduction. Seeing her little shop, she started to dig through her purse, as he continued talking, before pulling out a key, and unlocking it. The door swung open, as she walked on in.
"Old Haven? Huh... I've never heard of it!" She stated ever so casually, before a rushed follow up escaped her mouth, "But err! I'm not good at maps and locations and ummmm... Stuff! But good luck finding New Haven!"
"I appreciate it. Old Haven used to be just Haven--before stuff happened. A lot of stuff." He trailed off, rubbing the back of his neck while following in behind the taguel. Whenever he spoke about his old home he seemed to look off into the distance, though his gaze was pointed at the floor.
When they got into the store, Oliver found himself some place to sit, heaving out a sigh, "So Lisette--Do you need to do anything special or should I just get undressed here and hand you my clothes?" He tried to break the ice the best way he knew how, messing with the person he was speaking to. He asked her that question so bluntly while leaning forward on the cushioned stool he found himself on, elbows resting on his knees.
She nodded a bit quietly, as he seemed to lament his old home. It had to be unfortunate to lose your home, without even knowing where everyone went... Especially if one actually cared about their home, and had people to care about. She didn't continue on this tangent in time before he started speaking again, but honestly she wasn't the best at condolences either.
As he suggested such a thing, she thought for a moment. "Undressing seems ab-about... Oh! I'm an idiot!" She had started speaking oh so normally, but she suddenly panicked realizing she hadn't got anything ready for him to change into, while she worked on such things. Dashing by she ran to a shelf, and grabbed some of her slightly more plain clothing.
"There's a changing room, riiiight there!" She stated, giving a point to the curtained dressing room, as she seemed to shove the clothing at him. "Just change into this, okay~?"
Oliver couldn't help but bust out into laughter, leaning forward, and slapping his knee before wiping a tear away from his eye. Her reaction was priceless! "Oh--" He was cut off from what he wanted to say as a bunch of clothing was shoved into his arms.
"Alrighty." He declared while walking off to one of the changing rooms. In a quick couple of minutes and the sounds of someone fumbling about in a small stall while trying to maneuver around for more room, Oliver would emerge from the changing 'room' dressed in a plain white shirt and grey pants along with some loaner dress socks. "I look ridiculous." He said as he handed over the clothing to her.
Sitting back down on the stool, Oliver waited for what Lisette would ask of him next, measurements or to just sit there.
The other's laughter, only proved to make Lisette even more embarrassed. She clearly screwed up even more than she had felt she had. Poor guy, having to deal with her... She let out a sigh, as he went into the changing room, and started organizing her sewing station.
As he exited, she glanced at him for a moment. "Well, I mean not ridiculous, just pretty boring, but that clothes isn't really for fashion anyway!" She stated as she grabbed his clothing, and slid it into her station. The main thing she was doing was going to be some quick fixes. "So basically, I'm gonna fix this up, and it'll be good as new, okay? You won't have to wear that ridiculous clothes anymore!"
She gave a smile, before awkwardly looking down and hurriedly fixing all the problem areas. She was pretty quick at her job, but her expression as she turned downward was a bit distressed. She felt like an idiot, for not handing something to change into, over sooner.
