A hidden shop within the underground world of Windmire...
"Ho... hohohoho..."
"Yes? You like? Yes, yes, yes?!"
"My good fellow! A trinket of this kind would most assuredly fetch a great price!"
"Yes?! So we have a deal?!"
A young, dashing elf stood with one leg on a barrel, staring inquisitively at a piece of jewelry between two of his fingers. He had hair that would be described as off-white, and his clothing appeared wealthy and well-to-do. His face was of a handsome shape, and a pair of spectacles sat at the height of his nose bridge. His smile was long and fox-like, but the very tips of his mouth dropped as he spotted an odd inconsistency with the craftsmanship of the jewelry in hand.
"... Fuho? Well... this is interesting..." he simpered, "... my evaluation earlier was false. What garbage this trinket is." The elf twisted his head toward the man before him, "No, no, no... this simply will not do. I can't do business with fake artifacts!"
"What?!" the man shrieked, he grabbed the trinket from the elf's hand, "But... but he said it was real! That son of a halfwit bard...!"
The elf shook his head, "Well, WHOMEVER you got that piece of junk from has a lot to say, doesn't he? Run along now, you know where to find me if you find something... hmhmhm, better from off of him." He waved as the man disappeared through the door in a fury.
"Another dupe?" spoke a herculean woman with short black hair in the corner of the room.
“Hmmmm, not necessarily…” the elf hummed, he turned his head to the woman as he curled a smile, “Jewelry is absolutely boring, Northella! I would rather take monster bits! By the way, you look lovely this evening!”
Northella's face reddened at his words, “… Psh! Don’t toy with me.”

"I'm telling you, this is a bad idea..." The girl seemed to speak to herself, in a somewhat deep voice, before retorting with a higher tone, "Comeee on, we'll be fine, look there's people around here! If it was dangerous, nobody would be here, right brother?"
"I swear... You're going to get yourself killed, sister..."
"Will not!" She whined in response, as her face went into a pout. Folding her arms, she continued to walk, until her eyes noticed something interesting, a really pretty door. "Whaddayou think that is?" She asked her brother, who seemed to mutter a response.
As she approached the door she glanced at it curiously, completely ignoring the bell, as she knocked on it.
"Hello?" She called out curiously, as she kept knocking, like one of those people who doesn't know that you should stop knocking and wait for someone to open the door.
The elf looked up at the door as soon as the knocking had began.
"Hmmmm? This is odd, do they not see the bell?" he said with a tilt of his head, "... or perhaps we have someone who isn't supposed to be down here?"
"I'll check," spoke Northella as she pushed herself off the wall. She approached the door and peeked through a peeping hole toward the top of the door.
... There was no one there, and yet the knocking persisted, so Northella crouched and looked through a slot just beneath the door. She immediately closed it and stood back up with a blank look on her face.
"A girl," she breathed, then she glanced at the elf, "... There's a little girl outside. A little girl."
"Haaaaaah?" the elf drawled as he came around the counter. "This is unusual!" Northella moved aside, and the elf opened the door. He looked down and raised his eyebrows, "... Hm? Well, hello, little one! What are you doing in a ghastly place such as this?" Valentine

"Oh hello Mister!" She chirped, with a quick wave of both hands, before peering around him. "I'm just looking around, what's in here?" The girl instantly slipped past him, and tried to look around at the items in the shop, it was so big, quickly glancing at the items closest to her she saw varying jars. "Huh I wonder what these are? What do you think they are brother?"
"I don't really care, we should leave..." Half of her face seemed quite annoyed, as the other looked very much so interested.
"You're no fun!" She puffed out one of her cheeks, and tried grabbing at a jar, to look at what was inside. It was so interesting to see how much stuff was in here. One of her eyes seemed to sparkle, as she practically ignored the people inside, in favor of viewing such items.
By the goddesses. This one was quick... and quirky! The elf viewed her in awe, not minding whether or not that she was handling a jar of preserved frog livers.
"Hey!" Northella boomed, she stepped forward and yanked the glass container from out of the girl's hands, "Get out of here, brat! We don't cater to--" A slim finger fell on her lips, and the jar was taken from her hands.
"Shhhh," said the elf with another one of his mocking grins, "Don't yell at children! You know how hurtful that is to watch? You should be ashamed of yourself, silly Northella!" He turned toward the girl with a cheerful beam, "I'm sorry, little one! She's simply doing her job, and things like THESE--" he pointed at the jar, "-- would be particularly awful to have broken on your pretty little dress! Perhaps you'd like a whiff of what it is inside of this jar? I'm sure you wouldn't want to smell like that the rest of your way~!" Valentine

As the jar was yanked away, the girl let out a whiny, "Hey!" as she gave a childish sniffled, before glancing towards the elf who began to speak. She nodded her head rapidly in agreement as he criticized Northella. "She's right though..." A muttered voice escape Valentine's mouth. before a more girly response muttered back. "No she isn't, shut up."
Listening as the cheery elf continued, she looked to the jar out of curiosity. "I'd like to smell it!" She responded quickly, before a sigh escaped her. "Don't start crying if it smells bad."
"I don't cry, stop being mean!" One of her eyes gave an eye roll, which quite frankly looked pretty weird when the other eye stayed completely still. "Let me sniff it!" Her hands reached out, to try grabbing the jar, childishly.
"In that case..." the elf pulled a clothespin from his pocket and stuck in on his nose. His voice became nasally, "I'll open it only a little bit, just so you can get a good long sniff and satisfy your curiosity."
Northella immediately retreated to the other side of the room with a horrified grimace on her face, "Good lord, you're really doing it..."
"Alright, here we go!" exclaimed the elf. He pulled a small lever off of the jar and removed the cover, then held it out toward the girl, "Don't say I didn't warn you!" Valentine

The girl seemed to get a bit uncomfortable about the how the people were acting about this... Was it really that bad...? Somehow her desire to sniff it seemed to dissipate, yet she wasn't going to turn back now. After all her brother would go on about how he was right, or something annoying like that. She didn't want him to be right, agaaaaain.
The girl tried to get a sniff, an instantly her body recoiled backwards. "Ew ew ew!!" She whined, as she covered her nose, rather quickly. Her voice deepening, it followed up with a, "Oh my gosh... I told you not to smell it..."
"Frog liver!" the elf replied brightly, "Potion brewers use these for all kinds of things!" He capped the lid and pulled the lever back over, "Then again, that's the smell of the chemical that I use for preservation. Just a little concoction of mine that prevents rotting of dead things!"
Given the smell, he wondered himself if it was actually working. Oh, well! At least he proved his point.
"Now!" the elf put the jar back on the shelf, "Like I said, you don't want that on your clothes. Perhaps you would like to look in the toy section? I'm sure you can find a nice doll or two to play with for a bit." He offered his hand to her.
Northella drew near him and whispered in his ear, "... We're not babysitting her are we? She's... she's weird..."
The elf waved his hand to her, "Oho, please don't blow on my ear, you funny little tease."
Once again the woman blushed and crossed her arms, "That's... that's not what I meant...!" Valentine

"Frog liver... Ewwww! Brother, did you know frogs had livers?" The girl seemed to say rapidly, followed by a statement of, "How can you not know that frogs have livers...?" She seemed quite disturbed by such thing, for whatever reason. It was probably the frog part, she wasn't a big frog person.
But as the man suggested toys, she seemed to perk up, instantly getting a bit excited. "What there's toys?" The place was so big, that she didn't even notice, and with a smile she grabbed his hand. Her deeper voice came out in a whisper, "He's a stranger, don't be naive, sister... He even has frog livers... Do you want to go with a man with frog livers?"
"He also said he has toys..." She mumbled in response, "And he said we can play with them for a bit..."
She glanced up at the man, and smiled, "Where are the toys, I wanna see, I wanna see!" She stated energetically, completely not hearing the whispers that had been whispered.
Heh... heheheh, what an interesting little girl. Is she carrying one other person inside of her? Given the things he's seen, that's not impossible.
The elf rubbed his chin with his free hand, then nodded his head, "Over this way, my dears. That row." He lead her around the store and raised his hand to the shelving. Sure enough, there was a plethora of dolls and toys sitting in neat rows. "Now, be careful with them! They're merchandise, after all! Anything you break, you certainly must buy!" Before he released her hand, her bent down on one knee and both her hands in his, "By the way, call me West. Consider me a friend, okay?" After which he would release her... or rather, them. The girl followed along energetically, as he led her along to the toys, which she instantly looked towards in amazement. She wasn't the most careful, but she hoped she wouldn't break anything, as after all, she didn't really have any... How do you put it... Money.
As the man got to about eye to eye with Valentine, she glanced at him as he spoke, and nodded her head immediately after he spoke. "Okay, West, we're friends now then! Oh, oh, I should tell you my name-"
"Sister, don't say that stupid-"
"You can call me Valentine!"
"Sister, that's not-"
"He's just jealous because he doesn't really have a name!"
"Sister... Fine, just ugh..."
To that the child glanced over at the toys, and grabbed one of them, carefully as she could, being a child that wasn't too careful though. Sitting down on the ground, she started to play with it, before grabbing a second toy, and holding it out to the man, she spoke. "Do you wanna play too, West?"
West watched the self-exchange with intrigue, while Northella looked on with discomfort.
"Hmhmhm! Valentine, is it? I'll play a little while," he said to the girl, "Let me just..." he reached into a shelf and pulled out a small, dragon-like puppet that he held up with his right hand, then took the doll she held out to him. It was a knight donning Nohrian armor. "... How about this, Valentine?" he gave her the knight again, "How about your brother plays the knight? I'll play the scary dragon! Raaawr!" He caused the wings of the dragon to flutter as its body shook in rage, "What do you think, eh?"

The child seemed to perk up at the idea, before looking at the knight puppet. "Brother, you'll play right? Right?" She asked quickly, and then a sigh of annoyance escaped her. Clearly her brother didn't want to associate with this strange man, but he responded with reluctance. "I guess..."
"Yay, that means we can all play together, this is gonna be fun!" The more girlish voice cheered.
"So I just... Hit the dragon, with the sword... Are these fit for handling that, or is it likely to break?"
"He wouldn't suggest it if it'd break so easily!"
The hand holding the knight, attempted to swat its sword at the man's dragon puppet, "Alright, whatever, I'll kill the dragon..." Currently seeming to be controlled by the brother's hand, it looked like care was put into not breaking the doll.
The sister held the other doll at a distance however. "Don't let the dragon kill meeee!" She seemed to whine, as she kept that doll away.
Suddenly, there was a glint that appeared upon the surface of West's glasses. The dragon came to life as it approached the knight, roaring and stomping with ill intent to feast upon the knight. The brother should've thought this through!
"Shhhhhaaaah!" the dragon hissed. The puppeteer caused the dragon to swiped its tail with great strength, knocking the knight out of the girl's brother's hand. "You are too weak, boy! You think you can protect your sister with such resolve?!" The dragon stood with an aggressive stand as it let out another roar. It began to advance toward the princess doll with a hostile gait.
West looked directly into Valentine's eyes, his eyes slightly opened, taunting the brother with a grim smile.
