Cas had been reluctant to pick up her bow since the loss of her vision. There were times she would take it out for a little practice, but it often ended up with her frustrated and on the verge of tears. The blindness in her eye never bothered her until she picked up the bow. Often she thought about exchanging the bow and picking up a simple staff, like Izzy. Something always stopped her just before she planned to asked the woman. And now here she was, frustration growing as she missed the center of the target.
She will admit that her aim has improved greatly since she was eighteen. It wasn't like she didn't practice while her vision faded, but it was definitely rare. The arrows were actually landing on her target. It wasn't anywhere near the center, but it was still within the target area and that was good enough for her. Once she was out of arrows, she began the walk to retrieve them. They were spread out among the garden but even with one eye she could see where they landed.

As the maiden minded her own business, quite simply, it was unfortunate what might soon befall her. Being the miscreant he was, Rui wandered around the town, it was hard to find anyone who looked like they had money, or uh anything valuable, whatsoever. So he wandered casually, until he heard a noise.
The fwing of an arrow, this sound piqued the man's interest, he found himself approaching it, stealthily. This wasn't a hard feat for him to accomplish, there was no awkward movements necessary to stay hidden, however with his arms folded behind his back, he made sure to stay behind things as he approached.
Peering by, he noticed a young woman... And a small grin appeared upon his facing. Keeping himself hidden, he began to speak.
"Wow, you're so great at this~" He leaned against his hiding space, a wall, as he spoke. "I could be coming at you straight on, and you'd still die, what a failure..."
Cas held the arrows in one arm while she brushed the hair obscuring her view away. A voice had caught her attention. It sounded smug. It sounded like a male, and it took all of her power to not roll her eyes. She had had enough of guys like this during her youth and it would be just her luck that another one would pop up. Her life had been too peacefully quiet. It was bound to end sooner or later. She carefully stepped through the garden to where the quiver was.
"I'd like to see you do this with one eye." Cas shot back with a weary grin. After the arrows were put away she began to retie her messy hair. "And if you wanted to come at me and kill me you would've done it already, unless you're really stupid enough to warn your target before doing so."

Rui let out a chuckle as he crossed his legs, freeing his hands from the wall, and propelling himself into place, with little effort. "I mean, it's a bit more fun to make your life a living hell, before I kill you~" He said smugly, as he lifted out his dagger, and flipped it into his hand.
"But a useless little blind girl, would I even have to try to kill you? Maybe I can just kill your mommy and your daddy?" He taunted, though such a thing wasn't beyond him. He would have fun with it, just like he has fun with any little bit of pain he caused another... He could easily torture a useless person like this person, and not feel a shred of sympathy. "Want me to gouge out your good eye, to see if you're better an archer with only one eyes?"
Cas relished the feel of the breeze on her now bare face. Of course, it probably would've been more enjoyable without the talking wart on the wall. He reminded her of boy she knew in her youth. She never knew what happened to him after he left for the war, and Cas never cared to find out.
"Just missed the boat on that one, by about seventeen years. I wouldn't doubt if yours were dead and gone also. What parents would allow their child to become such an annoyance?" Cas gently sat down among the flowers. Her eyes lifting to where the man was while her clasped hands held her chin up. "Maybe they aren't dead. I bet they knew exactly what kind of person you would become and sold you off to the nearest labor yard. I wouldn't blame them, to be perfectly honest." Cas normally wasn't so rude but something about the man rubbed her the wrong way, and not just because he brought up her parents. That did contribute quite a bit though.
"No thank you. I've lost one eye already, I think I'd like to keep this one. I could do you a favor though and sew your mouth shut. I'm sure you would be much stealthier if you weren't running it the all time."

Rui rolled his eyes, was she supposed to be intimidating, it was depressing how close to reality she was, however. After all, she was right, his parents were out of the picture, not like he cared. "Honestly~ D'you think parents might be a sore spot for me? Not everyone's as fragile as a $@$^$ like you~"
The way he looked down at her, was as if he considered her utter trash, he didn't even try hiding it. He didn't look like someone who was a good person deep down, he looked like a scoundrel.
Giving a shrug, he closed his eyes. "But don't worry, just be glad your parents did die, not like they deserved to live, huh darling?"
"Who said I thought it was a sore spot? I was merely pointing something so horribly obvious; something even a 'useless little blind girl' could see." The man on the wall was almost like an overgrown child. The kid who pulled little girl's hair and laughed when they began to cry. Though it's a shame, maybe he could've been a decent guy if it weren't for his foul mouth and even fouler personality.
"My parents died honorably on the battlefield, as heroes. As did their parents before. You can't say the same, can you? Because your father probably took his anger out on you while your mother lifted her skirts to any male with spare change. Maybe that's why you're so unpleasant. Took too many hits to the head in your youth, sugar? Accidentally catch mommy with a man who wasn't daddy?"
//You really need to stop talking. This is exactly what he wants.// But it was just so easy to respond. She hadn't been able to take her frustrations out on the costumers, and archery only proved to make her blood boil more. Despite the anger she felt welling up, she also felt a strange sense of liberation.
OOC; yikes yikes yikes I feel really bad I'm sorry ;-;

Rui didn't seem to have even the slightest flinch at what she said. He felt no shame at his past, but he had to admit, her attempts at bothering him, amused him more than anything else. He wasn't the kind to get upset often, unless he was in a situation where he felt weak. This kind of thing was honestly something he didn't care about.
"It's adorable that you think you can make me cry~" He teased, as he gave a slightly lighthearted smile, before his expression tangled into a nasty glare, as he took a step closer, and then another. Moving his shuriken forward within his hand, he stopped as he reached right about where she was.
"Do you really want me to use this on you?" He suggested, with a cruel smile, as he lifted his shuriken a bit higher into the air, before looking back at her. "After all, your taunts are meaningless, but how can you really wish to live, when you're threatening a scoundrel such as myself~?"
Cas' eyes went to the shuriken, then to the man in front of her. She didn't bother standing up. What for? Why waste the energy standing for someone like him? The loose grin she wore before turned into a tiny smirk. Cas squared her shoulders and sat a little straighter, her eyes never lowering.
"You say my taunts are meaningless, but the way you're reacting says otherwise. If they were in fact meaningless you would have left long ago, wouldn't you? Unless you actually enjoy wasting your time." Cas did take a stand this time, hoping that the conversation was close to it's end so that she may go home and sleep this whole encounter away. She rolled her shoulders back and gave him a heated glare. "Do whatever you wish with your time but do not waste mine. Is there a point to this mindless debate or is this just something you do for amusement?"

She caught on...
After all, he wasn't reacting because he was upset or anything, he was doing this for his amusement, however, not like her having an awareness of this, could do anything to him. "Waste your time? You're wasting your own time, trying to learn archery, when you're blind, darling." He chuckled a bit as he pressed his shuriken to her neck, in order to draw a bit of blood. "You need a dose of reality, sweetie~"
Honestly, he'd be totally fine killing her here, but she seemed like an easy target to him. After all, how could a blind girl fight back, it wasn't even like she could match his speed. Everything he did, would always come out on top.
"It's not wasting if I'm getting better. Besides, being blind in one eye doesn't make me useless." Cas' glare hardened, her lip curling down as she clenched her teeth. The press into her neck wasn't necessarily painful, but it was enough to send a chill through her. She begged it didn't show. The nerve of the scumbag before her only made her want to retaliate and maybe that wasn't the smart thing to do, but she'd be damned if she let this man get the one up on her. Cas moved forward a fraction, allowing the sharp edge dig into her more.
"I've had my reality check. When I wasn't older than six and I realized that my parents were never coming back. When I was thirteen and I saw the everlasting effects of war on my uncle. When I was eighteen, and I finally lost all the vision in my eye. I know what I'm capable of. I know my limits. I know what I've lost and what I have. There is nothing you can do to make me realize what I already know." She pulled away, unblinking, and took a step back. The blood trickled down steadily and stained the collar of her dress. Cas inwardly cringed at the thought of having to wash out it out later.

Rui seemed a bit bored with her attempts to act stronger than him... To act like she was fearless. He flipped his bloodied knife into his other hand, and then with a swipe, it was hidden. He looked downward a bit as a result, "I'm sorry... I didn't know..." He stated in a more hushed tone.
But that tone was short lived, as he glanced back up, "That someone with such a cushy life could pretend they have a sense of reality! Man, see this is why people like you are useless, you got your head in the clouds, and when you get called out on it, you try to pass it off as a lie~" He smirked, as he walked to her side, and glanced at her. "You've been weak since birth, I don't need your sob story, to know that you just got weaker and weaker darling~"
Her eyes widened at the tone. He sounded sincere. Heck, he even looked it. She almost let herself believe it, but her guard was right back up once that stupid smirk was back on his face. Cas was practically growling at this point. Then she breathed in slowly, turned around and walked to collect her yumi and quiver. Was the push as she passed the insufferable man was on purpose? Probably. She tied the quiver to her hip and began to notch one of the arrows, drawing slightly to get herself reacquainted with the pull. Her eye and the bow were aimed to the ground. Then she quickly raised it up and let loose.

Cas nearly started laughing. The arrow had missed completely and was now sticking out of a tree. She didn't know why it tickled her so much. Honestly she should be mortified that she had missed so badly, especially in front of a scumbag like him. Him, who proved that he had no problems killing her right where she stood. But she wasn't, and a muffled snort tore through her that was quickly followed by rouge laughs she couldn't suppress. Cas' fought hard to not let the smile show but in the end, it broke through. As she trotted to the tree where the arrow was, she giggled through a tightly closed mouth.

Rui rolled his eyes, as he let out a laugh, he was a bit amused, he had been standing completely still, and she missed. What a pathetic person, to think that she could laugh when she was faced with possible death though. He was tied between trying to see how she'd react to actually being fought, and just letting her stay there all pathetic like.
But he made up his mind, he didn't want her to walk away laughing. With speed he made his attempt to attack, doing two attacks in the time it'd take for one.

His first attack seemed to have almost no effect, except a bit of weakening.

But his next slash actually seemed to do some damage, he dashed backwards and let out a small grin. "Let's see how this ends, shall we?"

Running back to try to slash at her with his shuriken, his first hit missed, before he tried another swipe as a quick follow up. "Crap" He muttered, as he flew by.
Pain wasn't something unfamiliar to Cas. She had been in fights before, no doubt about it. Maybe her age made her more sensitive to the hits as the first strikes against her were enough to have her hunched over. Her breaths coming out shaky. A hand flew to the place of pain and was met with the warm slick of blood. She wheezed out a laugh before standing up straight. Her yumi was raised and the arrow was pulled back with some effort. She tracked the man as he moved, and released her hold on the arrow.

The arrow had hit. Grazed him more like. It wasn't enough to cripple him but it was enough to draw blood. Another arrow was nock and the weapon was aimed down, her fingers ready to draw back.
