Personality: For most, Odette's personality is hard to get a grasp on, due to a lack of facial expression to read, or voice to hear. Her signings often come across as crass or sarcastic, and give the impression that she is relatively simple, for they are short and sharp. In truth however, she unmistakably intelligent, merely unable to properly express it. She finds a great amount of joy in conversation, though she only really enjoys signing with close friends. Despite her father's imprisonment, and being nearly an entire empire away, his presence still plays in the back of Odette's mind, always there, always watching.

Biography: Born the illegitimate daughter of a noble, Odette's position was made ever worse by the discovery she possessed no crest. Being entirely useless to her father, her mother was given a choice, either leave and never return, or accept his rule. Thus, was Odette raised beneath an iron and uncaring fist.

From a young age, she was taught that she should be seen and not heard, silenced by the fear of her father's wrath. This was compounded by constant re-affirmation that she was so ugly as to be not worthy of her name. To complete this abuse, she was kept masked, her face hidden away from the world as to not subject it to her hideousness.

Odette's early life was naught but abuse and restriction, her only respite from her father's command the brief journeys from his manor to attend dinners and balls. It was there she found her freedom, signing with those around her as much as she could. It was never enough to truly free her, with her yearning only growing with each click of the lock of her bedroom door.

In time, of course, her father's crimes, both against her, and against the Empire, were brought to light, and he was sentenced to life imprisonment. To help the young woman recover, Odette was sent to Garreg Mach, with the hope that freedom there would free her of her father's influence.
