DEARLY BELOVED Fierre Notre Sagesse Early Morning A particular summer date
Reclamation of the Faucon Rouge was easy after the bandits were done away with and the town cleaned of their filth. The Madame had established a safe haven over the neutral-standing town with brute force and the assistance of her loyal mercenaries. The old crew of the former Wyvern's Rest watched from the shadows and emerged once the coast was clear.
Riley, bartender, Albert, old gaffer, Margaret and Janette, inn keepers. There were new faces, such as Atsushi of the Akamizu, a Hoshidan monk with a skill for cooking, and a hulking, grizzled Wolfskin by the name of Kenta, who shouldered much of the manual labor. Those without a home were welcomed to stay in return for their services, no matter what they might be.
It has been a month now.
Notre Sagesse, situated in the near the southern coasts of Nohr and Hoshido, was now a bustling trading route between the more neutral zones of both countries. With the exception of war contraband, it was possible for products of both nations to pass freely through Notre Sagesse. While there were still tensions between the two kingdoms and their inhabitants, civility was highly respected due to fears and rumors of an actual dragon existing on this island.
Ah, yes. Aside from those who assisted the Madame in her liberation of the town (towners included) and her closest allies and friends, no one else knew that the Madame was the dragon. In fact, due to the origins of Notre Sagesse, it was popular thought to think that the Rainbow Dragon descended to Notre Sagesse to rid the town of its leeches.
That was fine. Fierre didn't need the unwanted attention. Let the rumor do its work and let her live in peace for the time being. It's summer. I remember my birthday being around here. I don't bother celebrating it, anyway. The only people who even remembers and celebrates my birthday is my brother and...
Brother hasn't shown his face since our fight and I'm becoming a little worried. He told me after all that he hasn't given up, but after I tore through his wings, he definitely cannot come here easily. That, and his seasickness will completely wreck his body.
At least with the rumors of the Rainbow Dragon being spread about, I can rest easy and focus on building my small empire. I've allowed my loyal friends estates here in the Faucon Rouge, and while I don't know if they're happy due to their stoic nature (I suppose it just comes with being a mercenary), I'm glad that they have a home to return to after a long journey.
My dear little Lucas has come home to me as well. While I'm ever so grateful for his willingness to support us, there is no need for him to do it now for my sake. I am not like my brother, I want my child to see the world for what it is and to learn everything he can. Ah, but for now, he clings to me as if I would disappear tomorrow. He's almost seveteen now. Most young men his age are already ready to depart from home and find themselves a living.
I wish you were here to see him grow. He's grown into such a fine young ma
The feathered pen became still and was set down into an inkwell as a surf of emotions breached upon her mind. Soft, slender fingers linked and curled tightly over tightening knuckles, and a head of golden blonde hair sunk forward into maroon sleeves. A groan of sorrow reverberated deep from within her chest, sputtering into blubber of frustration.
The writer leaned her body and head back in her chair and let out a loud "Uuuuuuuuuuuuugh" before setting her dairy aside on her vanity drawer. She rose from her spot and proceeded to the window.
A quick glance here, another one there, and the panes were pushed aside, allowing the woman to escape into the alleyway. Her destination entailed the beachside, where she decided to await the arrival of the sunrise. She preferred the solitude of the outdoors aside the stuffy indoors, given that there was more room for contemplation without the voices of wakers invading her thoughts.
Thus, she arrived, plopped her prim self into the sand, and stared out into the ever-brightening sky.

A week after news of a dragon taking the town had sprung up, a knight clad in pitch black armor would check in on the town every few days from afar in silence. The few people who saw him either wondered what a knight was doing in the area or had heard tales of the black knight and so instead chose to ignore or act like they were never seen.
It was on one of these nights of silent watching that he'd spot a figure leaving the town itself and stopping at the beach. Glancing back to the town and then the far away figure he'd let out a light sigh.. And clutching an object in his hand ever so slightly tighter, the knight would leave his usual post to also go to the beach.
On his walk several things would cross his mind that had stopped him from entering the town in the past. However, he knew that if nothing was done now, at this perfect moment, then nothing would ever be done in the future...
Reaching the edge of where the forest and beach meet he'd glance to the sand that will soon be making it harder to move in before stepping forward and making his way toward Fierre. His movements practically silent as always, as if the armor itself is an extension of himself. There is one thing that's hard to hide however, and as the wind would change directions so that it's behind himself going toward the dragons he'd make himself known by both speaking right then and having his disguised/masked scent going over her.
"Greetings... I believe that it is time I finally meet the leader of quite a diverse band of mercenaries and allies. I have a package for you, and though it is a couple days late. The person who wanted you to have it said to deliver it no matter what. However it had to be on, or around the specified day.."
Saying this, the black knight would open his hand to show a small package in his hand. The knights expression hidden by his helmet and his tone of voice giving away nothing about him... Though oddly enough he does sound somewhat familiar?

What an odd scent upon the wind. A musk that of a warrior who barely had time to wash up after his bloodletting, or perhaps someone who just let his body odor seep into the grains of his metal hide.
With footsteps subtle as a hare, he had made his approach, the very ambience of the atmosphere shifting with each of his careful movements. There was intent here, of ill or good will she could not know for certain. The breeze that was blocked by his hulking exterior gave her some idea of his shape, and boy was he a wide one. The thought made her crack a little smile.
He opened his mouth to speak, and how robust was his voice! The muffle in his helmet couldn't have been worse, especially over the tumble of the waves before them. Surely if a human would have focused their ears they could pick up an ounce of what this warrior fellow said...
Hah! Who was she kidding? She had the ears of a dragon with no filter to speak of. It was as if he were speaking right into her ears.
Fierre brushed her hands across the sand, streaking lines onto the surface.
"Well, you're quite the delivery boy to have pushed the limits of proper timing," she responded with jest, her eyes remained distant to the ocean, "Granted, there should be grace in the fact that these are tumultuous times, and packages that are successfully delivered are indeed little miracles."
Her hand reached out as she patted the sand beside her, "Please to sit, monsieur. Maybe you could listen to a woman's heart for a little while."Kazmael

Being invited to sit with her and listen to some of her words from the heart... It was an unexpected response for the knight as he'd hesitate for a moment. "... That is true for these times and your words are kind for a mere delivery boy. Also if that is what you wish, then I shall join you."
Soon after saying all this, he'd hesitate for a moment before walking over and kneeling next to Fierre. After all, sitting in full armor on sand is a pain to stand back up in. Doing this he'd then place the small rectangular package between the two of them, though he'd be sure that it's placed right side up, rather than on it's side or upside down.
"Whenever you wish to speak, I will listen Miss Bergstrom." After those final words of his are said in a respectful manner, he'd move his gauntlet-ed hands to be on his raised knee before there would then be practically complete silence coming from the Knight. If she is to look at the top of the box, her full name would be seen on it. Perhaps that is where he learned her name from? On a similar note, the writing on the package itself is also quite familiar, but it does not match any of her friends or her brothers.
Defense +2: Learned at level 1 As long as a unit has this skill equipped, they have +2 to defense.

She had not heard her surname spoken in many years, let alone the imputence of addressing her as a "miss" and not "madame." Why, just hearing it uttered from his lips was enough cause her to wince in displeasure.
The rest of her name was not shared to any other person, not even to her loyal comrades. The only other person to know her surname aside from her brother was her own son, only because he deserved to carry it.
Ah-ah! Composure. For all she knew, this was a demon come to taunt and tempt her with false hope.
While her face remained steadfast to the sea, she looked down to the corner of her eye, where in her peripheral vision could she see the presence of the little parcel, as well as the pitch black boots that the man wore. Granted, the details of the top of the box were blurry, and as such, not noted.
"Madame, if you please," she huffed, "I've lost the title of 'Miss' a long time ago." She leaned forward more, burrowing a small hole in the ground with her finger, "I don't know where you came from, if my god-awful brother sent you, or if you're a friend of my little Lucas, but I digress. I want someone to talk to and it's going to have to be fresh ears, so gird your loins."
Fierre cleared her throat, "... I am frustrated, but don't ask why."
A deep inhale, then exhale.
"I am frustrated, not because everything is going well. Oh, too well, in fact. The world seemed to have reopened itself to me, and I have done all that I can in that opportunity to make things work. All I ever wanted when I came here is to live in peace and quiet. Peace. And. Quiet. So, what did I do? With my own two hands and a handful of others, I have established that peace and quiet. I've done everything I can without interfering in the pointless war between the two nations. I've made friends who have pledged their lives on my behalf, and even my son desired to live in danger for my sake."
She let herself rest against the soil to stare into the abyssal sky.
"I am frustrated because I simply cannot let go of him. There have been many young strapping men who've fallen for my antics, my ambitious self, but I sense that I share the fate of the dove, for after their partner dies, they allow themselves to waste away without considering another to suit them."
A smile spread across her face, her chest filling with a pleasant warmth, "... I remember his scarred face, his eyes, grave, but full of light. He had no equal among his peers, yes, not even his superiors could measure to his might. Even so, he was gentle to me, quick to hear my words and eloquent of speech." Her right hand reached up to the brooch on the center of her chest, caressing its surface with care. "This sounds quite sappy coming from a dragon... but he was the treasure of my lair."
As the sun's precursor glow appeared on the horizon, Fierre turned her head to see the silhouette of the warrior beside her.
The sight of his armor caused her heart to skip. It was... too familiar.
"... Ah," she sighed as she inclined her body back up, "Pardon my rambling. I should see what you've brought to me..." She reached to the box and examined its top, noting the fact that her completed name was displayed across it.
Fierre Ingrid Bergstrom.
Only her brother knew her birth name... only her brother and...
Her hands began to visibly shake and the little box was nearly thrown aside, and her body instantly altered into her half-draconic form. Wing claws were poised, legs coiled, and crimson eyes burning with rage.
"Who sent you?!" she demanded with a lion-like roar, "Was it my brother again?! HOW DO YOU KNOW MY NAME?!"Kazmael

"I see.. My apologies for the mistake then." Only saying this in reply to what she wishes to be called, the knight would go back into silence.
Whenever she told him to not ask why, he didn't and continued to kneel in silence staring off into the sea.
When she mentions how many people have fallen for her, and yet she can not seem to let go of her partner. It would seem as if he wanted to say something, but would instead keep himself silent. His helmet masking his expression, however it may look at the moment.
When her partner is mentioned more, and how he was basically her best treasure. The silence would only continue as he listens to all she has to say. After all, everyone needs to talk about things. And it would be wrong of him to say anything at this moment.
Once she finishes with saying everything she had to say, and once the gift is accepted, he was planning to leave. Still without saying too many more words... However there was another change of plans as Fierre would look to him with rage whilst being half transformed. For a moment his left gauntlet-ed hand would move up as if to go toward his helmet. However seeming to think against doing so, that hand would lower back to his knee before he speaks. Somehow still calm even in this situation. Though there would be a bit of sadness in it as well.
"I... Am from Tellius. And you could say that I am close to Mr Fizzart, descendant of Jill Fizzart, before and after he took on your family name. This box and gift is from him, to you, Madame dragon."

Tellius. Fizzart. Inquisitive as the Doctor was, he had no interest in knowing about him.
If he was a friend of his, then she was in the wrong.
The Madame’s posture relaxed as a light chuckle diffused her anger, “Hmph… Fizzart… he always hated that surname…” Her form smoothly returned to its original, more human-like state, “In fact, he said he was always bullied because of it in the academy. The immature students liked to leave out the I-Z-Z part and just, you know, nicknamed him that.”
Her eyes focused on the box she had thrown aside, clicked her tongue, and picked it back up to dust it off.
“So… this is from him,” she looked at him intently from beneath her brow, “And if that is true, then you have no idea just how much it means for me to receive anything from him, let alone from a friend who would travel through the Outrealm Gate just to deliver it to me…” She approached him with a mellow gait, turning the little box over in her hands. “I apologize for the outburst I gave you. I find that I can’t control my reactions when it comes to the amount of secrecy I’ve established during my stay here in this foreign land.”
When Fierre stood a few feet before him, she looked up into the darkness of his helmet, along with the scarred features of his armor.
“Now that I think about it… you’re a high-ranking official of Daein,” she remarked with a tilt of her brow, “Were you perhaps his commanding officer at the time? It’s been… how many years now? Ah, sixteen, almost seventeen now. That’s how old my son is. I ought to know.”Kazmael

"I suppose that is so isn't it? But then again, he also wanted to be free of the expectations people had of him whenever they learned who he was related to.." Giving a slight chuckle of his own as the situation has de-escalated. The knight would gesture to the box as if in response.
"That is correct. It was said by him that you should have it on or close to your birthday." Even with her superior eyesight what's inside of his helmet would be indiscernible. Course with her apologizing for the outburst he'd hold up a hand somewhat. "There is no need to apologize. You have been through a lot so far in the time since you left Telius and secrecy is quite valued with the kind of being you are. So I apologize for not saying who I am here far sooner."
With this stated he'd bow his head slightly to her, however at the comment of his rank he'd seem thoughtful for a few moments. "I was a high ranking official of Daein. I left to finish a few things, and finding my way into this land helped greatly with that task. Also no, at the time I was not a commanding office..."
With all this stated he'd then frown somewhat underneath his helmet. "Also did you say it's been around seventeen years? To me it's only been between three or four since that event... To think I was supposed to deliver this quite a bit longer ago than first expected....." Stating this he'd lightly sigh before continuing.
"Anyways, the box will hold two things. One is a note, the other is not. And before it is asked, but payment is not needed. I... Well I did this since I wanted to do so Milady."
