Memories... A blessing and a curse depending on the situation. And so looking to the sleeping boy he brought with him from Macarath a sigh once more escapes before taking off his helmet and looking into it tiredly... 'Why did I take him with me? Was it pity? Familiarity? Hope? .....Perhaps a bit of all of those things. Well nothing can be done now since the past is unchangeable, so I'll have to abide mine and their choice for as long as he's with me.'
Hearing Tenebres move in his rest the black knight puts his helmet back on securely before leaning back against the tree and thinking back further, this time about his home.. True, he missed Daein. But there are memories both good and bad there. One of the good memories would be her. She was.. Beautiful... On both the outside and inside, and when she smiled he felt as if all his worries would just fly away. At least, that is if she didn't literally bring them on a flight.
Chuckling lightly as he remembers all the times had, the memories would soon reach the newer ones. And why he's no longer with her now... Kazmael was coming back with news that he would be promoted to one of the riders in a couple weeks which would give him a raise, so they would have been able to buy that land they wanted on the mountain sooner than first expected. ...However on getting home everything went horribly wrong... and that day is when the knight realized he wasn't strong enough to protect anything yet, and is also why he lost sight in his left eye.
He... That man took everything Kaz loved from him. It was because he cared very much for Kaz's wife who was also that man's sister and due to that person being blind to how things truly were... The thing is, Kazmael can't really blame him as much anymore. True his methods were not healthy, but the man truly did care for their sister.
'... I still wish things could have been different. In fact, maybe if we talked sooner. Things could have not ended so violently?' He asked himself this question and many others on what could have been done to change things, but all that was gotten in return is the same answer. 'I was too weak... So even though my fellow captains wanted to discharge me cause of my injury and what happened, I pushed harder, trained more, and still became one of the riders.' While doing this and even afterword he had searched for her everywhere in Tellius. But no trace was found anywhere.
Opening his eyes Kaz smiles very slightly. 'But there is another chance now. There are rumors of a person that looks like her in this land. And if they are her, may Ashunera strike me down if I fail to be there for her a second time.' With that vow thought once more, the Black Knight finally closes his eyes again to drift into sleep...
