Indignation is a Fire Emblem Roleplay. It takes place within the Outrealms as worlds collide and kingdoms wage an endless war. However, amongst the quarrels of men do the horrors of the Outrealm reach in to kill and destroy. Fight alone or join forces with other warriors as we create dramatic tales or wage war!
We are open to roleplayers of all skill levels. If you are interested in joining, check out the discord chat and meet some of our members. Or if you're ready to jump right in, go ahead and join the site!
After many requests, some prodding, and a great deal of guilt. I kid. The Growth Rate system is finally ready to go fully live on the site. I've solidified the rules, and added in a few rules that were needed to keep the system uniform. At a later date, and rather slowly, rates will be added to the class list.
I've been considering some sort of cap on the main characteristics, but I highly doubt I will implement that. However, I will be looking into ways to stop people from trying to create a meme build. Though we are adding some more game mechanics, this is still a RP site. I don't want numbers and points to get in the way of people having fun and creating stories.
The Growth Rate system offers a deeper level of character customization. The system may seem daunting at first, but it's rather easy to get the hang of. I suggest reading through the document once, in order to get an idea of what you'll be working with. If you have any questions after reading it, feel free to PM Nvm on discord. He will gladly offer clarification, or advice, on using the system.
Two sets of numbers determine a unit's growth rate: Determined Growth Rates and Class Growth Rates. Both sets of numbers have ties to the seven main characteristics used to determine a unit's viability.
Class Growth Rates Every class in the Fire Emblem game series has a set of growth rates tied to it. For now, until they are slowly transferred onto our site, you can find your class's growth rates on any of the Fire Emblem Wiki sites. We use a modified version of the Fire Emblem Fates system, ignoring the Luck characteristic. That beings aid, growth rates MUST be copied from Fates. Those rates will be signified by a pink box with “FE14”. Now, not every class available on Indignation has growth rates in Fates. If they have growth rates available from Fire Emblem Awakening, signified by a light blue box with “FE13”, you may use those. You can only use Awakening growth rates if your chosen class does not have any growth rates available in Fates. For classes that do not have growth rates in either games, talk to Nvm. Rates for those classes, and others, will slowly be added to the list.
Example of Class Growth Rates Archer HP: 10 STR: 15 MAG: 0 SKL: 15 SPD: 15 DEF: 10 RES: 0
Determined Growth Rates Determined Growth Rates are just what their name implies, growth rates determined by you. Three hundred points are split between the seven characteristics. You can place them in any way that you would like. Starting off, I would advise giving a base to the characteristics.
Having a starting point, like the above example, makes it a lot easier to keep track of your values. From there, you only have to shift numbers around to get your desired rates. Give the characteristics you prefer higher values, while leaving the less desired characteristic at a lower value. Naturally, this means characteristics with higher values have a higher chance of leveling. Double check your math before moving on. Remember, the values should combine to equal three hundred.
For my build purposes, I've made the Magic characteristics Serena's main focus. Speed is right behind it, with less importance placed in Defense. From there, Resistance is next. The least important characteristics are Health and Strength. Now most of those values aren't very impressive and leave the opportunity for Serena to become physically anemic. However, Determined Growth Rates and Class Growth Rates are added together.
Notice that Speed was pushed to eighty, with Skill and Health being given a nice little boost. Notice that Magic and Speed are both at eighty, the first threshold. There are a total of three thresholds when leveling. The first threshold is eighty. Any Characteristic above eighty is guaranteed at least one point when leveling up, even if there isn't a successful roll for that Characteristic. The second threshold is ninety. Any Characteristic above ninety is guaranteed two points when leveling, even if there isn't a successful roll for that Characteristic. The final threshold is one hundred. If a skill has one hundred as its value, it is still guaranteed two points when leveling. However, if the rolled value turns out to be one hundred, that skill gains three points for that level. When you are finished creating your unit's Growth Rates, you MUST have an admin approve them.
Actually Leveling Up
Now, when it comes to leveling up, you will need to purchase a level up from the store. Create a thread in the “Barracks” section of “The Castle”. There, you will roll seven D100. Assign one die to each Characteristic, from left to right. It MUST BE from left to right. Any value rolled, lower than the unit's Characteristic Growth Rate is leveled up. Any value rolled higher than a Characteristic does not level. Characteristics that breach a threshold are automatically given points, but MUST STILL BE ROLLED. When a Characteristic levels, you edit the post to add D2's equaling the number of leveled Characteristics. Assign the values of those D2's rolled to the Characteristics from left to right.
Things to Keep in Mind
Determined Growth Rates are very important. Putting preferred skills to high will leave your unit anemic. However, spreading your points too far apart will spread your unit too thin. Having two Characteristics at 80 is an excellent way to avoided the dreaded one-one level up.
Characteristics are assigned dice from left to right. There is no exception.
Classes without Class Growth Rates tied to a modern FE, must be created by Nvm.
Even if a Characteristic is passed a threshold, it must still be rolled.
Class Growth Rates can be found on Fire Emblem Wikis.
Class Growth Rates from Fates are pink and say “FE14”.
Class Growth Rates from Awakening are light blue and say “FE13”.
