The arrow fired back by Pav grazes Russel's bow holding arm, forcing him to take extra care to aim at Fila as she threw her dark bolt. However, Russel was so busy with aiming at Fila, he hadn't even noticed the walkway was about to collapse. The sound of thundering plates clapping against one another can be heard, as Russel is tackled by the late-arriving Kyverian, just as the walkway he was standing on was about to fall into the waters below.
The two land with a loud THUD nearby, but it wouldn't take them long to recover. The silent archer groans above the plated weight of Kyverian. The captain staggers up to his feet, adjusting his helmet as Russel fumbles about for one of his arrows. So far, Kyverian hadn't picked up on their location, but he does duck back down as Russel himself keeps look out.
It would be so much easier to just shoot Pav in the back and run. He was the only person who could pin her identity, and on her own she could easily get away from these two, especially if she parted from the loot. But that would be betrayal. And Pav... Pav trusted her. And hadn't betrayed her trust when it might've been more profitable for him to cut her loose. Until the moment he died or they got away, she was with him.
Whispering an apology that only she could hear, she again targets the supports underneath the two guardsmen. With both of the behind cover, they had no chance of seeing it, thought they might hear it. She continues blasting, leaving the walkway connecting the two paths that the combatants fault on supported by one creaking pole. She ducks behind cover, drawing in power for one last shot.

Kyverian remained perched behind cover, as Russel began his retaliation. Once Fila let loose her dark bolt, Russel peeked out to fire another snapshot before returning behind cover. But the sound of creaking wood was heard, as Kyverian began to creep from behind cover, preparing to make a mad dash straight for the location. That the thieves fired from. But they were still relatively close to something that could crush them if they didn't take care of it first.
"Russel! MOVE!"
Those were all the words he'd shout as Kyverian leaped from his cover, shoving Russel forward as the Nohrian Captain ran straight forward, ignoring the lack of cover he'd find himself without for his audacious charge.
"Thieves, scoundrels! Damaging the architecture will only seal your FATE!"
Fila and Pav both duck out at the same time, firing shots at Kyverian. "Just die Royal dog!" Pav barked, enraged by the dogged persistence of the nohrian townsguards. Fila kept quiet, not wanting her voice to be recognized. However she too, was beginning to think they'd have to just outright kill them to get them off their trail. After the first volley, the mercenary and the criminal back up, as Pav blows a sharp whistle, before the quickly retreat back into the more developed city through an alleyway.
As they run, PAv glances at Fila. "Any plans?" he asks dryly as they run for their life. The gives him a silent, exasperated shrug. They both knew that these two weren't the sort to take bribes; they would likely have to go find some backup or try to lose them in the crowd again.

Within his sudden bursting bravado, Kyverian had managed to avoid Fila 's dark bolts, but the resulting dodges had him struck by Pav's arrows, embedding themselves within his armor plates. Some of them had even pierced the black plates, his injuries ignored to unleash just two slashing attacks towards the pair, before they eventually manage to outmaneuver the injured captain. Russel eventually recovers from his dazed state, rising up to pluck out three arrows, firing them simultaneously towards Pav and Fila as they retreat to safety.
"Cowards! Thieves!" Kyverian barked out, picking up a stone and uselessly throwing it at their backs. Russel eventually fires one last shot at them, before eventually rushing to aid Kyverian as he rested against the rubble. "Russel, go after them. I'll catch up. I just need a breather..." An arrow haft is grabbed, before Russel's hand lapses over Kyverian's to prevent him from pulling it free. The glare of hate is soon aimed at Russel, who silently stares back. Fila and Pav had gotten away from Kyverian's relentless pursuit. For now.
While Russel and Kyverian are having their bonding moment, Pav and Fila make quick work through the city. Pav had many safehouses throughout the city, and it was to one of those that they were headed now. They needed to offload the goods, and get to safety. They move through several crowds, before finally ducking into a safehouse.
As the adrenaline fades, Fila suddenly collapses against the wall, a stab of pain shooting through her side. Her hand comes away with blood, Kyverian's sword having gotten far closer to its mark than either of them had realized at the time. Pav looks at her. "Are you okay Fila?" he asks, finally breaking the agreement not to use real names.
Fila hisses through her teeth, watching the henchman bar the door and set up guard rotations. "I'll... I'll be okay. Can't believe he got me." She thunks her head back against the wall. "How much did we make off with?" Pav smiles, holding up half of the Marcarth Cord, the jeweled choker of the first queen of Marcarth back when it still had Queens. "If you have yours?" Fila nods "Then we have enough."

By now, Fila and Pav had managed to get under the radar of the Nohrian search party. But the other accomplices they had left behind were overwhelmed by the onslaught of the guards. They were slaughtered without mercy, cut down to the last man by the vindictive order of the king. As far as Marcarth's elite were concerned, the thieves were dealt with, the treasure returned. Although most of it had to be pried from the hands of urchins, the bulk of the treasure was still returned, regardless.
Several of the Nohrian military officials called for the reports of the many captains that had patrolled for the thieves. While Marcarth may have forgotten the ordeal, Kyverian certainly did not. There were thieves that managed to get away, a pair of them that escaped the arm of the law. But for now, the captain bides his time, recovering from his wounds.
This would not be the last time Fila and Pav would see Kyverian.
