The insensitivity was hard to forget, nor was it easy to get rid of. At is point in his life, it had become second nature. Whether Kyverian cared for it or not.
But the talk of not finding someone of equal understanding felt reminiscing of his own social situation. The parallels drawn soon make him frown, far from that of a scowl but closer to genuine sympathy. A side effect that he does not mind, when it comes to being Fierre's confidant. "In layman's terms, it's awfully lonely to find people that truly understand you." An experience that Kyverian feels is all too similar to his own.
"It feels the same way here, in Nohr..." But, his dejected mood gradually fades, when she makes mentions of friends made in Nohr. Perhaps, there were more than just a handful of good people and he hadn't noticed. But to his surprise, he was the only Nohrian she had considered a friend. Acquaintances, however, were all too abundant in the land of Nohr. "Ah... I see." His attention drifts away to the window, his thoughts following. But the moment of contemplation is ended short. "Mmhn. I will need details, Fierre. I might not be able to match a name to a face, but I may have ran into her, at one point. I generally keep to myself and tend to avoid everyone." His words of loneliness flew over her head as her mind flipped to describing the woman she had come across.
“Deathly pale skin,” Fierre began as she leaned back in contemplation, “Long black hair that hung on her shoulders like a cobra’s hood, and eyes as piercing as knives. She was an immensely powerful mage, but so unkind! I wouldn’t be surprised if you’ve never met her, but honestly, what a sour woman!” A visible vexation appeared on her face, personified in the appearance of pulsating veins on her forehead, “Why, I would dare say she’s quite the villain! I never felt so threatened by anyone in my entire—“ she stopped herself, having realized that she was standing with her fingers digging into the wood of the table, “... oh, forgive me. Just thinking about her makes me ever so irritable!” Kyverian

The description of the woman sounded far too much like all the other dark mages he had encountered. Recalling her temperment, face, and name was not going to be an easy task. "Erm... Fierre..." He began, hands folding onto the wooden table, eyes staring at the digging finger its fruitless search for treasure, "That sounds like every Dark mage in Nohr. I'm just a captain, if I have ever met her, I cannot say I remember her face nor her, my own." There were far too many to keep track of, but Kyverian preferred the company of soldiers over mages. But, even then, he still preferred his solitude above socializing.
"What did you do to make an enemy of a dark mage? Usually, when one irritates them, they either are summarily killed on the spot or ignored and shunned." At least, as far as Kyverian has seen a few dark mages in the upper echelons behave that way. He could hardly say the same for those of equal or lesser status. "And since you're still alive... I can assume its a mixture of the two."

“Geh!” the Madame’s fury revived instantly as she slammed her fist on the table, causing a small indent upon the surface, “What did I NOT do, Kyverian?! She found me out, dear! Found me out and got away! I can tell you now, and with great conviction that this woman was a witch!” She pointed directly at his face, “You steer clear of her, dear! Witches are nothing but trouble where I’m from! They can warp and teleport and cast such powerful magic that can wipe whole battalions off of the map! Nothing is more dangerous than a WITCH!”
The woman let out a long, deep sigh. “... Oof. My apologies...” She stood back up and shook her head, “Not a moment goes by when I think about that encounter. I absolutely HATE it when people come across me as if they can simply sniff manaketes from a crowd of humans!” Yet again, her temper flared up, “... Grr! So upsetting! So very upsetting! Ugh!”

The witches sounded no different from the highest quality of dark mages that were prone to boasting their power. Yet, for The Madame there was a clear difference. Unfortunately, all magic, aside from light and dark, were virtually the same in his eyes. But he listens onwards with the same passive facial expression he is often seen with. The information may prove useful later. Eventually, however, Kyverian feels the need to punctuate the silence with his own voice.
"Erm... Fierre..." He slowly enters the conversation as more than just the passive listener, "You don't suppose she's been following you now, do you? The more you speak of her abilities, the more worry I feel a need to express." Someone capable of teleporting all about Nohr, working in their own self interest was definitely an individual to look out for. "A person capable of sniffing out Manaketes from a crowd of Humans is a rare quality that few could ever hope to be born with, let alone discover through magic."
All the more reason to be cautious, of course.
"And here, I thought I'd be able to leave you alone while I tend to matters elsewhere..." A palm is pressed onto his forehead, turning himself away from Fierre to nurse the headache he was getting from trying to figure out how a Nohr Captain and a Manakete could compete with a Witch.

“Hrmph!” Fierre’s cheeks puffed up as she turned away with her arms crossed, “If she was following after me at this moment, I would’ve caught her scent by now. She wears god-awful perfumes! I swear she’s probably making them herself... brewing and cackling and-and whatnot...”
One eye opened to him as he expressed his concern. At this, she reached over and tapped his left pauldron.
“... Now, Kyverian, I’ve lived for a long time. Believe me when I say I can take care of myself by myself,” this was spoken with certain surety and a smirk, “Just... just do your best to stay out of any shifty business with mages? I think they’re into the whole dissecting routine. You never know if you could catch diseases from one of their abomidable ‘anathemaeic’ practices.”

Getting caught up in the machinations of mages was never a fun deal. Even moreso unfun when Kyverian remembers that avoiding the aristocracy of Nohr was an impossible task for a Nohrian Captain. Sooner or later, his exploits would draw attention from mages and non-mages alike. Kyverian's lips thin out, refusing to reply, but trusting in The Madame and her long-lived life. "Okay," He spoke up, nodding his head, "I will do what I can to avoid mages. Just make sure you yourself avoid more witches."
The wooden chair groans with relief, the heavily armored captain now back on his feet. One last glance is cast around the room, his attention back onto the bronze sword he had left by the wall. "I will still be in markarth for a while before I set out. Should you desire my company, you know where to find me." The sword and scabbard are re-united, attention now towards the doorway as he offers one last glimpse of his face without a frown, but with a smile.
"Do enjoy your breakfast, I do not believe I'd like a repeat of earlier's encounter."

The Madame glanced back to the empty plate on the table, “I think that’s already been taken care of. I, in fact, must prepare things for tomorrow evening.” The color of her dress shifted back to its crimson sheen. “After all... my new inn, the Wyvern’s Rest, will be a permanent fixture to this fine city.”
She opened the door to the room and glanced back to him, “I hope you’ll stop by for the opening night, my friend. It’ll be rather exciting, I assure you.” Kyverian

Visiting new places wasn't something Kyverian hated. A new tavern meant meeting new people, as well as meeting new opportunities to expand his personal goals. He nods, content with the information shared. But now, it was time for his departure. But first, one last parting banter with the The Madame he had come to know. There was going to be an intermission before he'd visit the establishment. "I would not mind doing so. My visit will have to be delayed, however. I have to take care of several tasks before the day is done." With those words now spoken, the Nohrian Captain departs, closing the door behind him as he eventually makes his way downstairs.
For now, they depart from one another's company, until Fate decreed they'd meet again.
