"To protect the ones they love, Black Rabbit would think," he replied as he pulled an apple from his pack bags and chewing it hungrily, almost finishing it in a few bites. Swallowing quickly, he shook his head and wiped the juice from her chin with a gloved hand. "Black Rabbit thinks that anyone is able to become a pretty girl, with enough effort. I mean, you're pretty manly, and the horse makes you look like the proper soldier you are, standing guard over your country. But, you could do it whilst being pretty."
Black Rabbit hummed. "Black Rabbit is heading there as well. And you could protect Black Rabbit as she travels."
“I…” Ashen couldn't think of what to say. She had a point. The motivations wouldn't change much at all. “Anyone can? I'm not really the person to talk to with those kind of anyone can do it attitudes. Some people just are bet-ter at some things.” His voice cracked a little. The fact she would use a glove in such a way stung him on some level that he knew was stupid, but couldn't be ignored. Was that how a pretty girl would act? “I can do that, miss, the escort, not the uh, girl thing.”
"If you would like, Black Rabbit could try to turn you into a pretty girl." He smiled gently, shifting away from his teasing personality to a more genuine one. Of course, people are better at certain things, but that should stop you from doing those things anyway," she frowned as she looked at his glove, before pulling it off to examine his manicured nails. "I shall have to wash this. But thank you, the escort would be extremely appreciated."
Ash frowned. There was a heavy focus on him a prettiness in this conversation. Why did they have to talk about him? He had a feeling that this was going to go bad, but if it was going to be inevitable, better to face it head on. He gave a defeated sigh, then his response. “That's what you want isn't it? Fine. There's only so bad it can go.” He looked himself over. “I've not a clue where you'd even start though.” The soldier span around to prove his effeminate remarkableness. “N-nothing interesting here.”
Black Rabbit gave a squeak of happiness, clapping eagerly, before grabbing Ashen gently and dragging him over to the tree, sitting him down and grinning. "Alright, you are going to hold still for a moment. Makeup is tricky, so close your eyes. No peeking," he chastised, before pulling out a makeup kit, and getting to work. Though he was not as naturally beautiful as Black Rabbit, he could not less admit that his features made it easier to work. Eventually, he rocked back on his heels and giggled. "You look great. You wanna try on an outfit too?"
Oh no, he'd pleased the demon lady, the happy squeak was proof. He knew that was going to be bad for him. It was a surprisingly firm grip thar led him to sit down. His eyes never opened, but that wasn't because of the declared rule of no peeking. He held his legs tightly, tighter than he had Albert, as he waited for the ordeal to pass. Ash is a perfectly acceptable boys name was the mantra he recited mentally.
When he stopped being buffeted by objects he did not fully recognise or understand, he opened an eye. “I do? Aren't you the sort that finds everything adorable though? But sure, I'll disappoint you. I don't know how you imagined it, but it's won't be that great.” He stayed sitting in case the lady decided to use some of that hidden strength of her again.
"Hardly, Black Rabbit finds a great number of things to be supremely unattractive. Even Black Rabbit sometimes is disgusted by Black Rabbit, for the things they have done. Some days, Black Rabbit has to take a long look at themselves..." he trailed off for a moment, before holding up a mirror for Ashen to look at himself. "Black Rabbit feels she might have gone too far this time... she is sorry." He said with a whisper, taking a step back nervously. "Would you like Black Rabbit to remove it?"
And now the surprisingly strong demoness was sad. What do? Did he cause that? He knew no good would come of this, but he thought that maybe once he could get away with something without any extra problems. “I'm sure Black Rabbit, you aren't as bad as you feel you are. I've not got much to complain about.” Ash would have taken a better look at in the mirror, but she chose to back away, and he was not going to volunteer to go closer. “Why do you feel you’ve gone too far now? A commitment has been made.”
"But Black Rabbit basically forced you into this. Black Rabbit didn't really consider whether you wanted it or not, and Black Rabbit basically deceived you into going through with it. Black Rabbit is not a good person, not really..." He sighed and rubbed his face gently. "You are a soldier, doing something to maintain the peace, but Black Rabbit causes mischief." He pouted and shook his head. "You are a good man, but Black Rabbit is not..."
Ash lacked the right words once again. Was she wrong? Probably not, but it wasn't like he'd given her much resistance. It spoke more of how pathetic he was than anything, not like saying that made anything better. “Of course you’re not a good man like me…” He paused as he realised he should probably explain that. “I mean, you're, well, a girl for one...And you were pretty- Ah, I mean very, open about what you wanted. I feel a little rushed, but not deceived. Not deceived.” He shook his head a little, then shook shook some more as he found confidence.
Black Rabbit frowned, watching the man in front of him, unsure if he was dense or kind. "Black Rabbit knows you have been deceived..." He sighed and rubbed his mouth with a hand. "Black Rabbit has not felt like this in a long time, and he is not sure why... Black Rabbit is unsure why you make Black Rabbit feel like this..." He groaned and stood up, spinning on a heel, before passing him a mirror. "You may as well see what Black Rabbit has done."
What did he do wrong now? He always found something. He just knew this was going to happen. “Probably something about how silly I am for reacting how I did. That's a pretty common feeling for those who know me.” Ash felt his face as he examined the image in the mirror. He didn't know what to say. That was a common feeling too. “I think you could do more than just heal people. I look younger? More energetic? I-its pretty impressive what those tools of your do to a person.”
Black Rabbit stared at him for a moment, unsure whether he was actually being serious, and was that unobservant, or whether he was merely stringing him along to get him to say it. "Black Rabbit thanks you, your words are kind. But Black Rabbit thinks you are being daft of you have not worked it out yet. Black Rabbit is not sure whether they should tell you..." He trailed off for a moment. "No, Black Rabbit it is going to be a better person, starting now. Black Rabbit is not a girl."
Ash could not understand what was being communicated. He was being informed about how he was missing something, but there seemed to be no hint of what. “Oh...I'm sorry...A woman? It was just, with all your talking about pretty girls, I thought…” Maybe he shouldn’t have been thinking so hard. “I mean...I-it would be ridiculous to call you a man…” His panicked speech slowed as he examined his face in the mirror and looked back to Black Rabbit. He was so close.
Black Rabbit stared at him, eyes narrowing. "By the gods... are you actually that dense? Black Rabbit means, you're cute, and clearly intelligent, probably why you're doing all this weird stuff to me." He frowned, before rubbing his face gently. "Black Rabbit will spell it out for you. Black Rabbit... is a man. Do you understand? That is how Black Rabbit was deceiving you. Black Rabbit is not sure why he feels so bad about lying to you, but he does."
