Not exactly one that favors armor, Sakaba is mostly seen with casual clothing. He rarely shows more skin than needed, preferring longer outfits; the likes of yukatas and kimonos, if not just long-sleeved shirts and pants. Though in battle, he proudly bears the Hoshido armor over nothing more than a comfortable pair of slacks and an undershirt, for easier movement. He also has an odd fascination with hats and collects them, despite rarely boasting more than three.

Personality:
Open-minded, light-hearted and peaceful, Sakaba is a person one can easily talk to. He's fairly open to others and holds a certain sense of humor to try appeal to others more. On more than one occasion, he was granted with praise for his intellect and kindness, but keeping humble is difficult as the young man doesn't take compliments that well. That is because of a very hindering inferiority complex that haunts him eternally, making him legitimately afraid of falling too hard if he gets on cloud nine. He definitely lacks confidence, an ill trait for a solider.
While bitter about his inability to stand in their expectations, Sakaba holds the words and morals he was given in his home very dearly, and applies them in his daily life as well. He is a man of religion, despite not being a monk.
Biography:
Born to a normal family in an insignificant temple in Hoshido, Sakaba unfortunately didn't get far in what his parents had intended for him. Training from young age to become a proper monk and succeed his father proved to yield little results, as the young boy's aptitude with magic seemed far from what was hoped. It didn't help that he happened to only have two sisters beside him that, due to being female, couldn't succeed either.
Despite that, Sakaba did his absolute best in learning. Taking his father's silent scolding so often and watching for himself how he's failing to stand in what's expected of him, caused the boy to experience a lot of stress, and what eventually turned into a complex. Sakaba would hopelessly try and fail, losing sights of rational thought pertaining to his standards. He eventually came to acknowledge his own inability in the field he was intended to excel in, and after confronting his sisters many times, he had done the absolute misdeed possible - and ran away from the temple once he was old enough.
In his travels, one aspect from his time at the temple proved useful, in his way with people. However, luck can only get you out of harm's way for so long, and Sakaba met with the awfully rare sight that is criminals. In a short skirmish, he had discovered an unusual talent for violent ways -- as completely opposed to the teachings he got in the temple. Seeking to suppress this talent but having little to go with it, he sought to join the Hoshidan military.
As a soldier, Sakaba was mostly average. He proved to be witty, but hesitant at times. His comrades and superiors alike assumed he could advance if he tried, but no matter how much he did, he never managed much; all because of the complex at the back of his mind. In the eventual turn of events, Sakaba did manage to find himself in a respectable spot matching his teachings and self as much as possible - as a drill & combat instructor for the Hoshidan Army.
