Swords deal the lowest amount of damage between the three physical melee types, but they have the highest accuracy to make up for it. Primarily, there are two different types of swords. The katana, found mainly in Hoshido, and the standard Nohrian sword. Katanas deal less physical damage, yet have statistical bonuses to make up for that.

Switching Stones The manakete class is a bit of a special case. Their weapons grant them wide statistical bonuses. As a result, they are going to have different weapon swapping rules. When making their first attack a manakete decides which stone they would like to equip. After the attack is made, they are unable to switch stones freely. If a manakete wishes to switch stones, it will take one full turn and they will not be able to attack during the switch turn.
-While the stones are being switched, no stone buffs apply. A manakete's base statistics are what will be counted if they are attacked. -While switching, the manakete will be in "human form".
Why is this necessary? Because different stones change the way a manakete preforms. Stone changing freely can alter the battle in an uneven way.
