Clothing: Those are fairly simple. Most of the time, he wears the standard-issue armor together with plain undershirt or such. In fact, the only difference between his everyday wear and his battle outfit is the lack of metal greaves and bracers. The only peculiar thing about him is that he fervently refuses to take off the metal headband, a gift from his sister.

Personality:

Johann is the kind of a man that enjoys simple things in life. As he often likes to say, "the real happiness is a hot dinner, a warm bed and a warmer embrace of your beloved." In his eyes, a soldier's duty is not as much to fight enemies as to come back home after everything was said and done.

He used to worship knights as a child, but with time grew cynical enough to see his profession as simple means to support his family and home village. He has no personal bias against the people of Hoshido and views them as fellow victims of the cycle of violence.

As someone who used to starve for days as a child, he abhors anything he finds luxurious and prefers to company of himself. However, he likes to dote on his little sister and obeys any whim of hers without any questions.

He adores small forest creatures and amassed an impressive collection of stuffed animals which he claims to be gifts for his sister. As a matter of his manly pride, he keeps this a secret.

"Honor? Nonsense! What good is your honor to those who will have to grieve over your lifeless body?"

Biography:


A soldier's child, Johann was orphaned at a young age and barely knew his birth parents. He and his sister, Carren, were raised by their relatives in a rural village somewhere in the west. Ever since he was a young boy, he was enchanted with various fables told by his uncle. Sometimes, only those stories helped him to survive the harsh climate of his country.

As his family's main occupation was growing crops for trade, they were incredibly poor. More often than not, Johann went to sleep hungry, and one particularly harsh winter, only he and his sister barely survived. Now, forced to grow up quick and take care of his sister, barely teenaged Johann took his father's armor and became a mercenary to feed his living family.

With time, he managed to join the ranks of the Nohrian army and get his sister a nice house in Windmire, away from their previous lives. Even now, he sends all of his earnings to her, coupled with the answers to her letters.

"It's too early for me to die. I still have someone I must protect!"
