About
Profession: Ninja
Alliance: Neutral
Hometown: Unknown Village, Mokushu
Likes: Dogs, organization, reading, high places
Dislikes: Frivolous people, wasted time, betrayal
Personality: Nobuko has a non-nonsense personality endemic to most ninja. She is extremely goal-oriented and cannot be distracted from her quarry once she sets her sights on it. This means that she has little patience for playful or less driven people, whom she sees as frivolous and a waste of her time. Unfortunately, her fierce dedication often leads to her becoming very stubborn. It is very difficult for anyone to change her mind once it is made up, so many find it easier to let her burn herself out before interfering, lest they get their heads bit off.
She has a very strong moral code. She is particularly fixated on loyalty. It is her belief that there is no greater sin than betrayal. While she has little problem with lying to strangers, she cannot do the same to people who trust her, or whom she wants to trust her. Similarly, she would never intentionally bring an ally harm. While this makes her a good subordinate, it also makes her a very bad spy.
Though she tends to be serious, she is not completely without humor. She has a dry wit and sarcastic streak a mile wide, which combined with her deadpan delivery leaves many people confused on if they were intended to be insulted.
Biography: Her mother was a Mokushujin special ops ninja who spent most of her time spying in Nohr, while Nobuko never knew her father. She thus grew up as more or less an orphan and spent most of her childhood in the care of her uncle, Eisuke. She spent nearly her every waking moment learning her craft. When she wasn’t training with her weapons, she was reading. While she was often praised for her dedication, it led to a somewhat lonely childhood.
As she grew older, she came out of her shell somewhat and made friends among her comrades. However, her reluctance to participate in subterfuge threw up more and more barriers in her professional life. More often than not, she was put on bodyguard duty for a lack of other tasks she could be trusted with.
When the new Daimyo, Kotaro, came to power, things began to change. They were ordered to invade Kohga and began to expand their borders. People who had once been friends were made enemies, and Nobuko felt a growing unease as she and her fellow ninja were forced to do more and more things that went against her moral code. The last straw came when she discovered that Mokushu would be allying with Nohr rather than Hoshido, with whom they had always been on better terms. Torn between her loyalty to Mokushu and ethical dilemma with how Mokushu was behaving, she finally sided with her ethics. She left a resignation letter on her bed, packed her things, and fled Mokushu in the dead of night. However, her lingering loyalties kept her from reporting directly to the Hoshidan government, so she has spent her time wandering and refusing to commit to either side.

- She tends to prefer dealing with children over adults. She appreciates their sincerity.
- She enjoys reading history, philosophy, and memoirs. She cares less for fiction.
- She doesn't smoke, but the pipe was a gift from aher mother, so she treasures it anyway.
