"Worry not!" the knight nodded his head as he began pouring disinfectant into a clean cloth. He dabbed the wounds with the drenched cloth and applied pressure to the wounds to reduce the bleeding. After he had done so, he took a patch of cotton, placed it over the wound, and then wrapped a bandage several times around the torso and cut the end. It wasn't at all sloppy work. "Now, I'm afraid your bruises will need to reduce over time, young noble," said the knight as he finished, "But all in all, you'll live! That is something to be proud of!" He brought the supply box back to the mule, then returned to the mage's side.
"Now! It's dangerous to go alone out here," he said with a grin, "Else you should have a second encounter with brigands! Shall I escort you to the nearest town for your own safety?" Asinine
Asinine's face seemed to tense, as the knight had done his best to apply the vulnerary, he never had been fond of things unpleasant, such as the pain of such disinfectant. "Yes yes, living is well and good." Asinine muttered, as he slipped his clothing back on." Asinine rolled his eyes.
"You're from Nohr, do you intend to head back soon, as I'd rather not stay in this country any longer." Asinine stated this plain and simple, he wanted to try and get the knight to help him back. After all, people did enjoy harming a rich young man, such as himself. "Protection would be beneficial to me."
"Aha, as I thought!" the knight exclaimed, "I'm afraid I've just arrived to Hoshido. I've a delivery to make to a woman living in a village by Fort Jinya."
The mule let out a low grumble.
"At ease, Sir Donkey!" the man patted the animal and looked back at the young man, "In truth, the night is soon to come upon us. It would be wise to seek shelter before the sun disappears upon the horizon. Would one more night be troublesome in this country, young noble? Who knows what night terrors await us should we head back to the homeland this late!" Asinine
Asinine was rather bored by this information. He had to admit, he disagreed with the idea of a knight... Making deliveries, and not to other people on his own side. Making deliveries to just some random person living in Hoshido? That seemed like treachery. Of course, Asinine would agree he shouldn't be in Hoshido, for research, despite how he unfortunately had to be there, but its even more unacceptable, for a soldier to be friendly with the country they're battling against.
"I think the terrors of the night, would be better than staying in this dreaded place. Hoshidans are horrible people, that I'd rather not be around any longer than I must." His expression, had a hint of annoyance to the usually expressionless face. "Why are you bringing supplies to someone in the town anyway? Are they a spy?"
The knight let out a sigh, "Good sir, a true Nohrian you are." He pointed to the fabric where his badges once were, "But I am a dishonored soldier and have no allegiance to neither country. I am a mercenary who seeks his fortune on the winds of chance." The boy had to understand that much. "That aside, I seek the Raven's Rest Inn as prescribed upon the package. The person I am delivering to is not a spy, but the innkeeper. The delivery man was short on hands, so I had volunteered for pay."
He gave the boy a leery look, "Which bids me to ask you, young noble, what purpose is yours to this fair country? A man who inquires for spies is not an ordinary fellow. Are you military as I once was?" Asinine
Asinine listened, a bit of distrust growing, as he learned someone, who's garb clearly showed them to be a Nohrian, would accept work in such a place.
"No, I'm a but a scholar. Father sent me here, saying researching the flawed history, and literature of this country, could benefit me at some point." Asinine stated nonchalantly, as he glanced down at himself. "Actually, perhaps you've heard of me, I'm the eldest son of the Eisle family of scholars. I seek all knowledge, regardless of how useless it may be."
Asinine started to turn his wheels around, and continue down the path. "And as I'm a loyal citizen, its unfortunate to see one of the good Nohrians so willing to help the Hoshidans..." Asinine feigned sorrow, not that his face was that good at it. He continued to wheel himself away, not stating a good bye, or anything of such a sort.
