His stance on the war was now well known to The Madame now. It was going to be revealed sooner or later. The sooner the better, so that she may come to know the man that she has traveled with. Even now, with the rise in temperature, staring her in the face as he feels himself but a single breath away from meeting the same fate as the Archer. The smell of charred flesh comes to mind, only to be forgotten, once she decides against reducing the armored captain to ashes.
And now, he needed to fix the mistake of assumptions. Both eyes stare towards the fleeing Madame, a slight grimace on his face emerged, before he turns back to the gaffer. "Fine. It would do no good to leave here on a sour note. I owe her that much, given the risk she went through for us." One last longing glance is made to the rowdy soldiers, who have since settled down with the local women, gladly resting their weary heads on their laps and shoulders. At least they were having a good time, while Kyverian's mood soured, as did the conversation.
Without a moment's delay too soon, Kyverian pushes away from the counter top. The helmet is fastened to his head, the armored plates padded against his torso. Soon enough, Kyverian makes his way after her, to follow along to speak away from the public.

“Good lad,” the gaffer nodded as he observed his leave.
The Madame had stolen away to the upper floor of the inn and proceeded to climb to the roof level, a spot that overlooked the grand city of Marcarth. There was not a soul to be seen up here, much to her relief. She came to the edge of the roof and leaned against the side of it.
A nauseated look appeared on her face as she peered into the night sky, then she pulled forward and released some contents from her stomach over the side of the roof. She held up the hand she had cut herself on and let it tremble. Even though the wound had healed through the miracle of the vulnerary, her sleeve was stained with a darkened patch and the scent of iron filled her nostrils.
“Disgusting...” she murmured, “... ugh...” Her hand was placed back on the side of the fence, and her head hung low. Kyverian

Thankfully, Kyverian arrived after the clearing of The Madame and her stomach. The approach is slow, as to not startle her. The roof level of the inn was far more relaxing to gaze upon. The chills of the eternal winter was still there, but there were less people. Less noises were about to disrupt his focus, as well as the dark sky setting a calming atmosphere for the soldier.
"Was I really that awful of a company?" To others, that may have sounded like a joke. But, Kyverian was probably serious. "Or... Perhaps... Your wine was poisoned? Would you like for me to arrest the bartender?" Making things right was not going to be an easy task, especially when he felt no wrong had been done in expressing the way he saw the world. For now, he does not do much, approaching while offering the Madame a towel to dry her face with.

The Madame let out a few deep breaths before turning her head in his direction. “No, nothing like that. I just...” she went silent once again as she drew a few more breaths, “I just... got caught off guard by the amount of blood I drew, is all.” She turned slowly, supporting herself on the railing, then slowly sat herself down on the floor, her breath quick and shallow. Her skin was pale, and it’s surface was moist from sweat.
Her hand reached up to the towel he offered, yet her hand stopped short before she withdrew it. “It’s nothing that should concern you... haa... ho... I... I just can’t seem to calm da—“ Her words slowed and eventually failed as her body appeared to slump on its side.

The flow of the conversation seemed to have progressed smoothly. Though, it didn't put Kyverian at ease any more than the earlier conversation had gotten heated. His attention remained onto The Madame, only closing his eyes briefly, as he soon understands her frustration, somewhat. "Being a Nohrian soldier is all about the blood you spill. Sooner or later, unintended blood shall be spelt. Whether that blood be your own, your comrades, or-" Of course, what she had meant had flew over his head, but not the fact that she slumped over, however.
If Madame thought Kyverian's poison paranoia was tad silly then, she was going to be in for a rude awakening now. Both eyes widened in shock, the sudden lull in the conversation brought about by her fading consciousness, or so he had presumed. His body stoops down, two hands onto her shoulders to keep the Madame upright. "You have definitely be poisoned." Both eyes are narrowed upon the hand that had been injured, moving one palm off the shoulder to gently grasp the wounded hand. "Unless you're anemic. But, I doubt you are. This is clearly the work of a Hoshidan spy..."
Before he'd go off and search for the assassin that he perceived, he turns back towards the Madame, eyes softened with concern. "What medicine do you require?" Even his tone had gotten meek, losing just a few ounces of the stoic, curt soldier that he had fashioned himself to be.

The Madame’s eyelids fluttered open as she regained control of her senses.
“Huh? What?” she mumbled. The world around her seemed to spin for a few moments as she slowly regained her focus. The captain was here, holding up the hand that had been injured. On his face was such an unbecoming look, yet in her confused and groggy state, she could not tell whether it was of worry or not. Nevertheless, it was imperative for her to lie down on a comfortable bed than be on the hard floor.
“Nngh... captain...” Her clean hand reached up to his shoulder plate, “Can... can you bring me to room 5? I’m afraid I’m feeling rather queasy...” At that moment, she let out a very unlady-like burp of nausea, “Ex... excuse me...” Kyverian

Just when he had thought an assassin was going to be the end of The Madame and decided to comfort her in her last moments, the smell of booze wafted through his nostrils. A chilling, bone-tingling sensation racked through his being. She wasn't dying, just drunk and emotional. He refuses to deny her request, however. Instead, he draws out a heavy sigh, a neutrally annoyed expression now planted onto his face. Sure enough, the Madame is scooped into his arms, the towel placed onto her lap in the event she needed to hurl anywhere but him.
"As you command." His tone was back to its usual, as if he were addressing a superior officer, rather than the Madame. Soon enough, he bounds back out the doorway, giving one last look to the night sky before he passes on through. The long, stoic march through the corridor fills Kyverian with nothing short of dread. At any moment, at any time, the Madame might let loose a fireball with the next blech or worse-- Unleash a tidal wave of liquid that refused to stay down. Soon enough, he reaches room five, setting her down onto her feet to lean against his shoulder.
"Do you have your key?" His head is turned her way. Hopefully she had the key to the door, subtly finding said key might not be within his best interest.

Ah, oh... she was expecting to stand on her own, but he had gone ahead and lifted her up off of the ground.
What a vulnerable position! Forget whether or not she had her key—this was a tad much for her taste!
Yet, in her confusion, they had already arrived to her bedroom. She was placed firmly back on her two feet, in a manner where she leaned against him. The towel that was on her person was taken in her healed hand.
“C-captain...” the Madame stammered, her hand gripped onto the edge of his pauldron, “If you ever carry me like that again, it will be when I’m actually dead or dying.” She released his shoulder and teetered back and forth slowly toward her bed. Now next to it, she plopped down without reserve and rubbed her hand down her face.
“Ugh,” she mumbled, “... I don’t know how you boys do it. You suffer wounds, you spill your own blood...” She shook her head, “... And here I am, swooning after cutting just my hand... ugh... just thinking about it makes me sick.” Kyverian

She hadn't be drunk and emotional, but unable to stand the sight of blood. It was a situation he had never expected, given how handily she had defeated not one, but two bandits by her lonesome. He was moreso baffled by that than anything else. But, he did nod his head in agreement when she had said to only carry her in that manner when she was dead or dying. "That's why I carried you, actually." She seemed to have been on the verge of death, as far as he was concerned.
Thankfully, that was not the case.
"There are methods one may take to get use to it, Madame. Though, you're not the only one unable to withstand the sight of blood." As far as Kyverian saw, no soldier had suffered from the inability to see it. At least, the ones he had been assigned seemed capable enough to function when blood was drawn. "Civilians and merchants rarely see the front and the skirmishes. For you, it must be a horror show. But for us, this is just another day at war."
He soon edges himself backwards, now behind the doorway as a hand grabs hold of the handle, preparing to give the Madame her privacy. "Think about the connections you'll make thanks to my glowing report, tomeless caster." Maybe it'll help The Madame sleep better at night, it sounded like something she'd be concerned with. But before he'd fully depart, he'd at least make sure nothing else was required. "If that will be all, I shall leave you to rest."

The Madame quietly considered what he had spoken. It wasn’t as if she couldn’t handle the sight of blood in general... just her own. Furthermore, to explain this dynamic to him would be saying too much of herself. Nevertheless, the answer could not be more obvious. These poor fellows were deadened to the sight of bloodshed, even their own.
She quietly reclined back on the bed and rested her arms over her eyes. Eventually, she sighed, then nodded her head.
“I’ll think about them,” said she, “While I cannot fully accept your mindset, your help and consideration are greatly appreciated all the while.” She waved a hand to him, “Well, enjoy your break as much as you can, captain. If I do not see you tomorrow, good night and fare well.” Kyverian

There was plenty of time to catch up, he'd be staying in Marcarth for a while. The war didn't immediately require his attention, at least. For now, the lull between action was going to be thoroughly enjoyed. But The madame needed her rest. Nothing else was requested of him, there'd be no reason to keep the poor woman up any further than necessary.
"Right... Rest well." His eyes are lowered, the door brought to a slow close. He soon rests his back against the door, eyes closed temporarily to reflect on the events that had taken place. There was much to thing about and much to do, but unfortunately, such thoughts were best left alone. Kyverian soon returns to the downstairs area of the inn, to rest and relax for the rest of the evening before he'd eventually return to duty.

The Madame watched as the door closed, and in an instant, her dress melted away. However, she was not bared in the sense of humans were. Covering her human torso were scales of a darker hue of blue, and upon her back were a pair of bat-like wings. She quietly approached the door and locked it, then returned to the bed.
I don’t have much time now... no, not enough time...
She sat down upon her bed and curled up, her great wings covering her form. In a little while, she began to snore softly.
