Personality:
Kyverian can be mostly be described as a taciturn man, generally speaking very little when on duty. Though, that has not stopped him from offering words of wisdom to his fellow soldiers, as well as acting in unison with those that must work together with him on the field of battle. Most of his time is spent largely to himself when it does not concern skirmishes, patrols, and standing watch. The self-improvement of his own characteristics is seen as a step forward to one day becoming a knight or a paladin. Though not one for boasting vocally, Kyverian tends to let his actions do the most of the talking.
Obedience and discipline is the core of his Focus. Those lacking in self-control often find it even more difficult to hold his attention, much less get out anything more than a disgusted grunt. But such tendencies are often revealed around those that are of lower rank, as well as those of equal status. Though quiet, he has also shown to be quite observant, picking up on details that others usually miss. When out on the field, however, Kyverian sheds any reserved mannerisms to bolster the fighting spirit of his comrades. He's usually the first to charge and the last one to consider a retreat, unless the situation absolutely demands it.
However, Kyverian's lack of social tact still shines brightly when he happens to decide he wants to speak. His words are, more often than not, come across as crass, insensitive, and overly judgmental towards those that he offers a nugget of wisdom or two towards. Many find his insensitivity disturbing, as he's often quick to make comments and observations that others would prefer not to say, out of kindness and or respect. Although he is capable of understanding respect and social niceties, Kyverian sees no use for the latter in the heat of battle. A fact that's quite easy to be reminded of, in the rare instances he speaks when not in the middle of a fight.
Though courageous, he's not one for needlessly risking one's own life unless the time calls for it. Kyverian is not afraid to play decoy in order to allow the weaker allies time to escape or to retreat. His emotions and thoughts may be guarded at times, but his actions have spoken loud and clear to both friend and foe.
Biography:
Kyverian Alto was born into an impoverish noble house, known to produce a special brand of wine that had been popular in the years predating his birth. But as all good things do, the noble status came to an abrupt end. The patriarch, Robert Alto, frivolously spent away his money in order to bring in wealth from different business ventures. But none of them yielded profit, eventually running themselves into debt. Kyverian was only fifteen at the time, knowing the status of a noble's son for only fives years before their re-location to the slums of Windmire.
Kyverian began his days as a beggar, pleading for food scraps and alms in order to appease his father and keep his mother in as healthy a condition as possible. None would come to the aid of Altos, as their names became synonymous with greed and ruin to the point that business associates refused to acknowledge their cry for help. All except for one person. A knight by the name of Julius was willing to take the boy in, as repayment for Robert's sponsoring of Julius' knighthood. The boy was sold for enough food to last his parents for the winter. Unfortunately, Kyverian never contacted them after the exchange, devoting himself to being a knight's attendant.
For six years, Kyverian learned much about being a knight. Julius told him many stories, tales, and legends of the many heroics that the knights of Nohr are known for. Kyverian learned how to swing a sword, how to raise the morale of those fighting by his side, as well as tactics in regards to leading. He took to the training with a natural aptitude, but his social skills left much to be desired. Rarely, would he speak. Far too stuck in the past, occasionally, his thoughts drifted to his parents. But those feelings of uncertainty eventually melted away after two years, when Julius had recommended Kyverian join the Nohrian army. At Julius' suggestion, Kyverian found himself posted at one of the border forts, making his stay and skills a valuable asset, having spent a year in the fields, Kyverian has experienced some of the horrors of war. But he still required plenty room of improvement, in order to one day obtain knighthood. Just like the man that he taken him in and given him a purpose.
